A Glimpse into Daddy’s Autobiography

In the beginning 
Deacon Abiola James Oloyede was born on the 10th of July 1941 in Ile-Ife, Osun State to Pa. Chief Emmanuel Abioye Oloyede and Madam Marian Oloyede.

Personal life
Deacon Oloyede was married to Mrs. Ajibike Oloyede and they are blessed with 3 lovely children and 4 grandchildren.

Formal Education 
Deacon Oloyede began his formal education at Anglican Primary School, Ilare, Ile-Ife (1955 - 1957) and Olubadan Primary School, Ibadan (1958 - 1960) and then proceeded to Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, (1961- 1965) for his secondary education. After completing his secondary studies with distinction he went ahead to pursue and complete a degree in electrical & electronics engineering at the Grantham College of Engineering in California (1976 - 1979).

Technical Training 
  • 1966 - 1969: P&T Training School, Oshodi.
  • 1968 - 1969: Final & Full Technological certificates in telecommunications - City & Guilds of London Institute.
Career
Deacon Oloyede worked in the Federal Ministry of Communication between 1966 - 1972 and joined I.T.T Nigeria limited in 1973, where he worked for 15 years. He was the founder and CEO of Abi James Electronics Company, a telecommunications company that provided products and services to several multinational companies in Nigeria.

Deacon Oloyede held many offices in the church and his local community, he was a cheerful giver who was always willing to serve others, some of the offices he held included;

  • Auditor, FBC, Shomolu
  • Treasurer, FBC, Shomolu
  • President, Ife Ooye progressive movement 
  • Secretary, Alade/Olowosokedile CDA

  • Financial co-ordinator, Alade/Olowosokedile CDA

Transition to Glory

Deacon Oloyede, till his death on Tuesday March 30th, 2021 was vibrant, full of energy and graceful. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and confidant. He was a lover of sports and in his early school days, was a member of the volleyball and football team.  He was passionate about simplicity and hard-work. He always demonstrated a very deep sense of responsibility and integrity in his professional, personal and social relationships with everyone. These attributes helped him to propel through very humble beginnings in his early life into a truly fulfilling end. He was very grateful and satisfied no matter the situation. He will be remembered for being a very caring and exemplary human, who lived his life beyond himself.
