For several summers when Doris and I were somewhere between the ages of eight and thirteen, both our families had camps on the Hudson River. My parents were both teachers so we were there for the summer but Doris' family would come only on the weekends. I remember well waiting for them to arrive so I would have someone with whom to play. Doris was a breath of fresh air to me every time she came. She was probably the first woman ( not the last ) to teach me humility because, try as I did, I was never able to beat her in a foot race and she could catch as many fish as I could too! I shall always carry many fond memories of her. My sympathies to all her family.

Words cannot be put in writing of the Lady who was my Boss (Postmaster) for twenty years but also a good friend and co-worker. She was the most dedicated Postmater of all times and people always looked forward in going into the Post Office as her Happy Face was always there to greet them and serve their postal needs as well as a gathering place for many locals to chit-chat and just keep up on the local news. She always made the young ones welcome and gave them a great experience going to the post office and stickers and lolli-pops were always given out as well as helping SANTA answer their letters to him as well as put a little gift inside the letter.
I am so grateful in having her as a Boss as she (being a mother herself) always understood when a situation would occur with my young children that my place was with them. She would always work around my kids sport games in my work schedule and for that I am so grateful as they both turned out to be well-behaved Adults. I will never forget, and I must always credit Doris for this, when my son had his rehearsal dinner for his wedding, he said Mom, when I played all my games (baseball and football) when I looked up in the stands, you were always there. Words cannot express that moment and I have to thank Doris for that.
I can go on and on.... and to sum it up, there will be no kinda, passionate and loving person than you Doris !. You will be truly missed, but I can promise you one thing.. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN !. Love you to Heaven and back
