I never met Dr Nnama in person but met an exemplary father in the extra-ordinary daughter he raised, Dr Nkiru Nnama. The value of a man can be seen in his offsprings. You have lived well, now rest beautifully in God's bosom. Adieu Owelle of Nibo.

Can it be? That never ever!

I loved that he remembered everything about me - where i wanted to go, what i wanted to become, how far my plans had gone and the little details of my life such as the name of my village!. He was a father, not just to his children, but a father, also, to their friends as well.

I really have no words, I can only say God sees beyond what we see and though i know only in part, and somewhere in me its hard to believe that this is real, still, I thank God because thats all thats left to do.

May you find rest beyond here as God receives you.

I met Dr Nnama a few times but those few times with him seemed like I had known him for a lot longer. He was such a fatherly figure, truly engaging and always found time to show interest in my little sewing hobby which I was pursuing under his wife and his daughter; Lommy (my friend). His smiles, warmth and good nature endeared him to anyone that met him. Standing tall not only physically but also as a pillar for his family and community. Indeed, Okosisi adago! But for those you have left behind, the thought of you resting in The Lord will heal their sorrows...Go in peace Owelle!!!

He was an amazing man. How he knew everyone and how he connected with everyone was a wonder. He was larger than life. If he came in you had to notice.
I never felt threatened by him. He was a beautiful person.

One of many benevolence of my oga, I Ichie Owelle of Africa, Engr Dr. E.C. Nnama(of blessed memory)

Owelle, was indeed a generous man. He was a generous man. He once surprised me on a visit to a very close lady of  Akwiwu extraction. We got to her house to discovered that she was down emotionally. She needed an urgent N30k. There was no money to give her. We left. On our way, we met an old friend. Owelle requested for N30k but the friend could only give us N10k. We drove back to her house, submitted the N10k and left. After driving a distance, we met another friend of Owelle. He demanded for N20k. Again, that friend could only give N10k. We turned again towards the lady and submitted the 2nd N10k. I asked myself, what kind of a man is this? That can burn himself for others like this? He was indeed a type of a kind.

Thank God he left such legacy as displayed
by his children. God bless Owelle plenty plenty. If life could be repeated, I would like to meet him again and again

The news of Owelle's sudden passing came as a very big shock to me, especially after hearing how it had happened. As I sat and reminisced  of the relationship I had with owelle it occurred to me how much of an influence he had in most our (Akwiwu's) lives. From my first vacation in Lagos, first speed boat ride, first bar beach  visit (where fortunately he saved me from drowning). My first trip to the US was also from Owelle's house.
Owelle's brings joy and happiness to every enviroment he steps into, His generosity knew no bounds for two years while I lived with my aunty in Enugu the only other person I looked forward to visiting besides my parents was Owelle because of his attitude and all the goodies he brought along including pocket money.
Our first "iti mmuo" experience was courtesy of Owelle and his "igba and Ogene drummers from Nibo when they descended on us in the early 80's in Abba, this also happens to be my first encounter money spraying. Owelle is also responsible for bringing us the first life band that I enjoyed to Abba (Eddy Okonta) growing up. I can go on and on about all the first's Owelle made happen because he was just that kind of guy.
Owelle without a doubt is first among his pears in a lot of endeavours as you must have read in his biography.A jolly good fellow who has impacted the entire Akwiwu family positively.  You shall remain in our memories and will be forever missed. Owelle 2,Owelle Ndi Igbo. Ime la.
