TO THE FAMILY OF REV. EDWIN ROLAND WHITE
HE SERVED WITH DIGNITY AND INTEGRITY
The members of Deeper Life Christian Ministries and I join with the family, loved ones, and friends of our beloved Rev. Edwin White as they celebrate his home going. May the family be encouraged and take comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul “to be absent from the body, and to be present with The Lord." 1Corinthians 5:8.
I knew Rev. White for several years. He was a godly man who took the teachings and ministry of the Word seriously. He never ceased to remind us how important the soul of man is, and one must be always ready to meet with God. He demonstrated enormous strength in His walk with God and was strong in faith. Also, he was gracious, a people’s person, humble, an inspirer, expounder of the scriptures, a counselor, firm in character, a man of wisdom, and a 'no nonsense person' who upheld his integrity in the midst of trials. He was a devoted saint who loved the Lord, his family, and the church. In fact, his life depicted that of a genuine Christian who heeded to the Scripture, which states “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”.
Pastor White was one of the many pastors who mentored me in ministry over the years. At the inception of Deeper Life Christian Ministries, one day he sat me down and said, "I just want to encourage you, because you have taken a very bold step, but the Lord is with you." At the end of our unforgettable conversation, he prayed for my guidance, wisdom and understanding. Then he looked at me with a smile of approval, followed by a big laugh and said, "God Bless you!" From then, I always looked forward to visiting him. No matter how busy he was with his many clients, he said to me, “just have a seat, and we will talk. "Our talk contained the many islands, including my homeland Nevis, he travelled to and taught as a school teacher. He shared some very interesting experiences he had with friends and people of the elite class that he met on his life’s journey. Then he exclaimed, "Those were good days!"
Today, I declare the words of the Apostle Paul, ”He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, and he has kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness. 11 Corinthians 8:7& 8. In addition, the song writer says, “Cares all passed, home at last, ever to rejoice.” We shall meet him in the resurrection. The best is yet to come.
