Happy Birthday Mom. Stephen got very reflective when I told him that it was your birthday. He solemnly and respectfully turned his gaze upward, and said "happy birthday Grandma".
We love you.

Hi mom, I came over to post a photo and ended up spending a half an hour listening to the relaxing piano music and reminiscing. Love you.

Thank you for the life story about my Aunt Elaine. Distance kept us from visiting so I never new what an interesting and rewarding life she lead. Of course, with all she did her biggest accomplishment was raising all those boys. All so different but all a reflection of her character, ambition and love of life. She did an amazing job. George Ann and I are so glad we were able to visit her at Patricks in 2012. Our deepest sympathy to all. Jim & George Ann

I was told that Grandpa and Grandma Hoganson stressed the importance of keeping the family close. Aunt Elaine kept up her end of the bargain with frequent visits to the family homestead on south center with Frank and the kids. I’ll always remember the summer I spent in Dennison Texas with the Silverwise crew. There were many firsts, killing my first Tarantula with Tom in their garage, listening to Pat or Michael (?) play wipe-out on the drum set. Swimming at the public pool, where I’m pretty sure I had never seen so many black kids in one spot. I’ll never forget Aunt Elaine worked pretty hard on my lack of table manners. All in all, far to memories to recount. Our deepest condolences, Greg and Soony Mead.

To the Silverwise family, my memories of Aunt Elaine are from our summers on the farm, family reunions, grandpa and grandma's wedding anniversaries and your family visits to Illinois. Happy times with Aunt Elaine always smiling and laughing.  A great person and aunt.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To my big sister Elaine's family - what a beautiful and loving sister. She always would come home to visit family every summer no matter where she & Frank & the boys lived. And when our Mother was widowed, she would come back to Marshalltown to take care of our Mother so that Jim& I could take a vacation. For Elaine, her family was the most important. I will miss her but her memory will always be with me. Sending my love - Bobbi

To Patrick and Pam, I only knew Elaine for the last few years of her life, but felt like I knew her for a lifetime. She was so kind, sweet, and funny. I will miss Elaine, but she will always be in my thoughts and in my heart. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take care of her, and for treating me with such kindness. I know that she is with our kind and loving Father in Heaven, and that she was welcomed home with open arms. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Love, Thelma.

My son, Elaine's grandson, Stephen wanted to add... HEYTAKI. This was the beginning of a greeting that the four of us would use on all of our phone correspondences.

Patrick, no matter how old we are, losing your mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. Though there no words to ease your pain, remember that she is now in heaven, in God's loving arms where she is at peace.
My prayers are with your and your family.
Gloria, Stacy and Elizabeth.
