Welcome. Have you found your way here by discovering a prayer card that was left in an auspicious place or some other special way? Please take this present moment to briefly tell us and leave a memorial message. Thank you!

It is with great sadness, the family of Elaine Michelle Joseph (Stokes) share her passing on February 1, 2022 after a long illness. She resided in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was 53 years young.

Elaine loved gymnastics, taking some instruction in her younger years but her “true” love was music and art. She relocated to Florida, loving the warmer weather. Once in Florida she became involved in establishing Artblend Gallery alongside her husband. They were a sensational “team”! With Elaine as Executive Director and Michael as the Producer, the duo established an exciting business fueled by Elaine’s love of art. It was Elaine managing Michael’s photography career that made Artblend a reality.

Elaine was passionate about being involved with the Toys for Tots organization and, along with Michael, hosted the local Fort Lauderdale drive for several years. It always culminated with a festive Winter Holiday Party at the Artblend Gallery.

Knowing your loss from my similar experience, sharing our similar and enlightening experiences through extended conversation, I believe she is with you in this moment and will be always. Her passing was a tremendous loss but, if I may say so, an opening for Michael Joseph to expand and triumph on your gifts and abilities beyond all you accomplished together.
God Bless

The love and respect Elaine and Michael had for each other was evident to all who worked with them. Elaine was a beautiful woman, hard working, professional and correct in all her dealings. I only knew her professionally, but every so often she showed her mischievous smile and I got a glimpse of the fun personality behind her business side. I am so sorry for her loss. Gone too soon, she will be missed by all who loved her.

I was so sad and sorry to read the email about Elaine’s passing. I know how close you (Michael) were together. She was such a lovely person and a light for us all. I felt a kinship with her because of her love of the arts. I didn’t know she was I’ll so it was quite a surprise. I pray you find some consolation in your wonderful art business and continuing to work with artists, Michael.
Sending comfort and blessings,

I never met Elaine, but I know :

"If you find someone who makes you smile, who checks up on you often to see if you're okay. Who watches out for you and wants the best for you. Who loves and respects you. Don't let them go. People like that are hard to find."

My condolences to you Michael.

The news of Elaine's passing brought incredible sadness to my heart. I had the occasion to speak with her a few times, usually about art business, but those few times left me with a strong sense of peace. She had that gift of speaking that made you feel like she has known you for ever. She was a gentle and gracious soul. I know that her spirit will live on and guide you, Michael, as to continue the passion you both shared. Know that my prayers are with you and your family. May she rest in peace.

She was a lovely person and very efficient, easy to talk to, and I know Michael was devoted to her. It is heartbreaking to hear of the news of such a young vibrant person passing away. May she rest in peace and be remembered.

I never met you Elaine, but I was so looking forward to at the upcoming ArtExpoNYC. Thank you for all you gave to artists and the world of art, but I think the goal is not to live forever; I think the goal is to create something that will, and you surely have. Farewell, for now.

Today I received heartbreaking news about a family member. I said a family member because as a Publix associate, we treat our customers as family members, and that's where I met Elaine and Michael because I used to make their cakes for Every event that they were having; she was charming, humbled, and always had a warming smile on her face. When I learned from Michael that she had passed. That deeply hurt my heart. Elaine Will truly be missed, and I thank God that I had an opportunity to serve her as a customer of Publix and may her soul rest in peace

Dear Michael - I hope this poem brings you comfort in knowing Elaine may be away for a time, but she is not gone:

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
(Henry Scott-Holland)

My husband and I have known Michael for seven years starting with the art Hampton shows. As the years went by, Michael became like a son to us sharing our lives in our home in the summers during the shows. We never had the privilege to meet Elaine but I felt Michael‘s deep love for her and concern each time he would visit us. He was in constant touch with her to make sure she was OK in Florida by herself. Brad and I got to love Michael very much and know how much he is devastated by the loss of his sweet Elaine. All we can do is stand by him, love him and make sure that he always knows this dear sweet man is welcome in our arms at any time Brad and Cindy Loewen

May God continue to bless you and your family. Please let me thank you very much for the opportunity to share a tribute to your beautiful and wonderful wife Elaine. She was professional and a sweet hearted person. Absence from this earthly body, is the only way to be present with the Lord in our spiritual body. Just remember Michael, that the Lord makes no mistakes and He is always a good God. I thank the Lord for sharing Elaine with us doing her wonderful life. Remember this Michael please, Elaine can't come back to us, but the good news is, that the Lord will one day allow us to go and be with her in heaven. That's good news my friend.

Life never ends Michael; it changes and goes on in many ways - through memories. Elaine lives through you now and her family and friends, and through those who knew her in any way. Elaines' soul and life are with you and her loved ones and in that way her life will never end - it has only changed.
