Four Decades On
TIME IS THE MASTER.
The photograph was taken into 1968 or in 1969 at The Belts the former home of her parents James and Elsie who moved to Elgin in the 1964 period with their sons Alec Andrew and Allan along with their sister Helen.
Aberdeen was home for many years for the family as the demands meant that younger tinsmith or Scottish Romany Families needed to be settled in council homes .
The most important aspect to this in the passage of time revealed greater details of her life in Aberdeen mother followed her family, but she is known to have followed her children from children's home to children's home knowing every aspect of our progress time is the master she proclaimed.
And it sure is. There is sadly no news of progress on a dedicated memorial yet if there is this site will up date on the facts I thank our family in the Aberdeen area and the new generation to our family today for they have secured my love and affection and everlasting dedication to our family. She wanted the best and she has this in us all.
Love Pete
Special Thanks to my mother's cousin Robbie Stewart who shared his memories with me in his home in Gretna Green Dumfries.
Special Thanks to John and (Maggie Stewart) of Aberdeen for their endless friendship to my father and mummy and for their faith in me.
No Stone left unturned.
I was indeed taken back on mummy's love of Cliff Richard music and I have often wondered were I got that from Now I know. She also was a great lover of Elvis & Bill Hayley and Marc Bolman T Rex. I have heard a lot of people tell me good things about my Mummy of late now I know where all those Christmas Gifts came from when I was a child and just wish I could bring her back.
Up dated facts will appear as more information comes in.
History
Born Betsy Stewart into a Scottish Traveler family. Information is now gathered, she had a large family her brothers are Alan- Andrew- Hughie and Alexander, her sisters are Helen and Agnes. Her parents are James Stewart and Elsie Whyte Stewart. It is now known, that she knew Alexander ( Sandy ) very well as Lizzie Whyte ( Kelbie) was her Auntie and she was the mother to Alexander Kelbie they were marride in Aberdeen march 1962. Betsy spent much of her childhood with her uncle and Aunt from time to time, she was with her parents travelling arround Scotland in summertime. She was educated at all levels on education and was a first class writer, it appears she enjoyed school where they travelled. Betsy's childhood was good and she learned her english and scottish maths very well at high standard. In her later life as a young lady she loved music and enjoyed the introduction of Rock 'n' Roll she saw also the introduction of Pop music and loved dancing.
From records it is clear that she had two children born Jeanie or (Jayne) & James Stewart. Then later in relationship with Alexander Campbell Kelbie they had Alexina- Elizabeth - Elsie- Charlie- Isobel- and Peter and there was no other children born after 1963 period.
Betsy had eight children and sadly they were removed from her into local authority Social Work care her first husband Alexander Campbell Kelbie sadly died aged 33 years at Holm Rose Road Cantray Croy Inverness on 12/ August 1966. Her third child Named (Alexina Kelbie) died in care on the 31 August 1960 in Dundee Scotland. From an early stage we can see from Police records that this bright young women who was indeed actually kind towards so many people became deeply hurt by the fact that her children were taken into care and the loss of her third child (Alexina) while in care of the Dundee County Council's Social Work department left deep depression not just in her own life but also in her husbands Alexander's and in 1966 after the sad death of Alexander it would be many year's before she would rebuild any relations and in 1971 in Forres Aberdeenshire she Married to Tomas McPhee. While there was hope and faith that she would be reunited with her children who were being discharged from care of Aberdeen City Council' Isobel and Peter where still in care and her endless decades of writing letters to the Social Work Department proves that she was indeed to be one of the most dedicated mother's of her time whom waited on their return into her safe arms. And in 2014 Social Work mistakes have been recorrected in the passage of time in acts of dedication proven that in the course of time Motherhood is and alway's shall be, and should be' protected at grave costs and nothing should ever destroy that family bond she was and alway's shall be dedicated to on till the end of time from her family and those who knew her. Such a miscariage of justice should not have happend and in this loss it is right that she should never be forgotten in the passage of time.
Information up date Mummy was born in Aboyne Deeside Scotland we have corrected the many historial mistakes made by Margery Urquhart who was the former MI5 Agent who became the Head of Social Work in Scotland. On the 18 of August 1976 on The Great Northern Road near to Don Street Aberdeen Mum was on her way to the Embassy Disco when she was killed by a lorry. Much of the information was reported in the media headlines and we are at a grave loss since.
