Her Life

1 yr on.... 7th February 2021

February 8, 2022
Started off with a bit of hope despite the multiple seizures indeed scary I haven't seen anything like these seizures before. You had me running round the wards looking for the nurses on duty at about 2am. You were jerking so bad and spilling out vegetable and black blood and some funny breathing sounds I prayed, I wept, finally the medication kicked in and you were calm I would never forget how I kept peeping to check the rhythm of your breathing finally it was morning all your loved ones kept coming to visit you, tears rolled down your comatose eyes a couple of times, you blinked once for yes and 2ice for no segun spoke to you to try to bring you back but no luck the neurologist came to assess you, in her report, she mentioned things I haven't heard before
She said it could be 3 things either:
COVID which was negative at the time
A shortage in the vessel carrying blood or oxygen
Or a leakage
She suggested you do an MRI to ascertain what what was making you brain-dead (loss of neural activity she called it)
Seconds turned to long hours loved ones kept visiting
It was quite a peaceful night leading to a busy day however not knowing what was about to hit us we set out for the MRI iyabeji ogunyemi was accompanied me to clinix

06/02/2021 in memorial

I miss my therapist, my confidant, my angel, my peace

I still remember every detail by the hour of occurrence. I came to the house to check on you and you could barely recognise me except for my voice you tried to act like you were fine and I knew something was seriously wrong with you.
From missing your mouth while eating to looking for your phone which was right in front of you to your inability to recognise the most famous busstop in Lagos. You even manipulated the tests at eye foundation just to make me calm. I remember you said you could see a bright light if only I knew it was "that" light but I won't have done anything different anyways I'm super glad I was with you through it all at dinner time things got scarier and you confessed to your inability of seeing anything at all not knowing I was beside you you couldn't even see me or perceive me. Each time I go to my toilet I still have flashbacks of how I backed you to the the toilet
Rushed you to the nearest hospital where you said the last meaningful words to me before having a stroke ( " o se to wa gbe mi o) it wasn't like anything I've seen in my entire life, you murmured somewords and instantly you lost control of your limbs and that was the beginning of your last hours
I was also admitted after experiencing shock but my health dint even matter at that moment
