Seems like it was just yesterday you sat around the hunt camp table in YOUR chair Bro. Like it was yesterday you walked to The Oak, or up The Sheep hill in the dark, in search for a 12 pointer. Like yesterday your outstretched hand was there for me to grip... We had a lot of good memories together and they remind me all the time how blessed I was to have a Big Brother so generous, so kind, so patient, so everything. You helped me in so many ways and so many times I could never forget or return the favors. You still walk with me every day Bro, and I love the feeling of your hand on my shoulder. Rest in peace now Bro. Your watch is done.

And another anniversary comes and goes dear Brother. Your life shared with all those you love is still rich in technicolour in all our minds and hearts. Your kindness, your humor,
your acceptance of us regardless of our shortcomings, your endless sharing and love, lives on in our lives like a golden road we walked together... Someday each of us will stand at The Gate looking in, and we know your outreached hand, and your smiling face will welcome us in to your new mansion in the sky. Thank you for all you have meant to all of us. Our love outlives the passing of time.

I worked with Ernie at "Crain's" for many years. I remember him as a very kind person, I just learned of his passing this evening. I'm sorry I didn't visit him in Almonte, while he was there, but then I lost track of most Crain employees when the Ottawa plant closed.
  My condolences to his family.

Once again this year it seems your birthday is bound to be rained upon, but no matter, we had lots of rainy days together, and so what? Rain is beautiful sometimes.. Your loving memories are forever in our minds and hearts and our lives are fulfilled with the bountiful times you shared with us. Happy Birthday Bro. I'll be up to share a fireball with you soon.

2016-07-07 Happy Birthday Bro... If the rain stops long enough today, I'll be up to visit, we'll share a few memories, and maybe a Fireball... Missed celebrating your Birthday on the Canada Day week end like we did so many times, courtesy of Scott, and all the friends and family that made it an annual tradition... BUT, I was thinking of you. Thanks for a lifetime of incredibly GREAT memories.. Eld.

There are people who come into our lives with quiet serene personalities. Ernie cared, listened and often had a sharp zinger of humour to add, if you listened for it - so very similar to his dad. Ernie was a wonderful man, who, as we read through the stories and memories, touched many people. May your love live on through those who knew and cared for you.

Scott, Eldon and Family:

Marge and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your families on the loss of your father and brother. He was a remarkable man and will long be remembered for his generous and caring nature. I knew him best through hunting. He was a man that I thoroughly enjoyed being with because of his love and knowledge of the outdoors. A man who you would like to be with if some unfortunate or unexpected incident happened. He has been a friend to me for well over forty years. That’s more than half a lifetime. I will miss him too.
