My sweet dear friend Eunice. She was my neighbor in Fayetteville and I will never forget her kindness and beautiful personality. She became such a good friend to me. We laughed, we cried. I am so grateful to have known her and thankful for each second we shared together. I have a couple funny stories to share. 1. I received tickets to see Amy Grant in concert and invited her as my guest. The concert didn't start till 7pm so I told her I'd pick her up at 5:30pm for dinner. She caled me at 3pm to tell me she was ready. Haha. I showed up and there she was, sitting and waiting on her couch, hours before. Loved that. 2. We're mexican. When we first met, she asked me if I spoke Hispanic. Haha. She could always make me laugh. 3. My husband's in the military and is frequently gone. While at training, he had gotten into a fender bender and needed a rental car. The rental car he received and returned home with was all black with dark tinted windows. My brother was visiting that week too. I'll never forget the call I received from Eunice. She said, "Sonia, do you think it's wise to have gentlemen callers while your husband is away?" Haha. Sweet Eunice didn't recognize my husband because of the different car and didn't know my brother. She was always so honest and I loved that. Last story (even though I have more). 4. She got to meet my firstborn, Diego. When I sent her his announcement card she called me....all the way in Washington state to ask me why I'd name our son, "the devil". Haha. She thought we'd named him "Diablo". Haha. I love her and miss her so much. She always took the time to call and we'd chat for an hour. She'd save and send me newspaper clippings. She was more than a friend to me and my heart aches to see her sweet smile again...hopefully in heaven. She was 84 when we met, 6 decades between us. You know when you meet someone and just click? We were kindred spirits and she was my best friend. Love you Eunice. Always, Sonia, Armando, Diego and Viviana.
