Dr. Fahoome was one of the kindest and most resourceful teachers I ever had and departed far too soon. She put a prodigious amount of effort into sustaining and growing the 'edstats' program at Wayne State and I was amazed at her energy and intelligence in devising courses as needed by us doctoral students, as Shlomo's irreplaceable right-hand person. For me, as a nontraditional student with a long commute to my hometown, Gail was a light of enthusiasm and joy of learning, and always first a warm and supportive human being, Now that Drs. Marcotte, Sawilowsky, and Fahoome are gone, my memories of 'edstats' at the alma mater I love are adorned with sadness and thankfulness that I had the opportunity to learn from them.

Gail....it is hard to believe it is 6 years since you left us. You would be excited to see what is happening in the U.S. and world. You would recognize the opportunities and danger. May you continue to R.I.P...

Mom,
Not a day goes by that we don't remember your light. Though we miss you here in the physical, we know and feel your presence all around us. As we observe butterflies spontaneously appear, we know that is your presence letting us know you are near and keeping watch. Miss and love you lots...today and everyday...I remember you <3

Gail is still missed by her friends here at the College of Education. She was such a good teacher and friend. We enjoyed many an hour talking about our mutual friend Shlomo, how he could be so smart about statistics and so dumb about politics. I saw Capella's movie on TV not long ago and it helped me remember how proud Gail was the night we saw it here in Michigan. Love to her family.

A woman that I always admired, she never ceased to amaze me! Her heart was genuine, so were the words she spoke. Whenever I needed advice or a shoulder to lean on, she was always there. I will forever miss our lunch and dinner dates, her words of encouragement, our talks, and hearing her laugh. She was a wonderful grandmother as well, and included my little girl as hers (makes me smile

Gail was a warm, wonderful person. I knew her since she was a Master's student, helped her when she was a Doctoral student, and was her secretary when she became head of Eval. & Research. She was great to work for and was a nice friend to have. Her students loved her! I was sad to learn of her passing, and will miss her and her beautiful smile a lot. My prayers are with her family.

I had the pleasure and the plriveledge of knowing Gail for over 4 years. I was her nail techinician and I considered her a good friend. During the past several years we got to know each other and began to share things such as family stories, recipes, and life dreams. It was an honor getting to know this beautiful soul during my life.

Dr. Fahoome was one of my special professors throughout my doctorate journey. I took four classes with her, she was also an active member in a two committees and will be absent on the final one! I used to send her wishing words on the first day of every year for a healthy and peaceful year. She was full of love and kindness. I will miss her immensely.

It has taken me this long to write something because I don't have enough or the right words to express all my true feelings. I have a hole in my heart where my friend and sister filled it up with her laughter, smile, intelligence, kindness, compassion, beautiful face and spirit...I could go on and on...I am so glad she lives on in our wonderful memories of her. I so love my family!!!

This year, when my sister Gail and her husband Richard said they wanted to come to Florida and stay with me the week of May 22-29, I was elated. I hadn't seen them in a couple years. I requested Thursday and Friday off so that we would have five whole days together (including Memorial Day). I picked them up from the airport on Wednesday, the 22nd, after work. Cont... We did a lot in those five days, catching up, going to the pool, playing poker with my daughter Karyn, taking little trips, visiting with people, watching the Red Wings, making wraps and smoothies, and just plain relaxing. It went by too fast. Tuesday the 28th was their last full day in Florida, and I had to go back to work

Cont... It was 6:30 that morning and I debated whether or not to wake Gail, who was fast asleep in the recliner. I didn't want to just leave the house without letting her know, so I nudged her awake and said I was leaving for work. She gave me her beautiful smile and told me to have a good day. I'm so glad I made that decision, because I got to say good-bye.

Dr. Gail Frances Fahoome was my WSU-class mate; and, later she became my professor and dissertation committee member for my EER Doctoral Program. She was always understanding, sincere, warm and willing to assist others. Her smile was enjoyed by everyone! I pray that her family will cherish her memories and legacy for many generations.
