Obituary

Garrick Mandel Anders, affectionately known as “Guy” was born June 1, 1953 to
Claretta and Glenn Anders.  He along with his two siblings, Patrice Anders and Glennetta Anders Grays were born and raised in Chicago Illinois.  Glennetta had one daughter,
Nicole Grays.  His sister, Glennetta and mother and father, Claretta and Glenn Anders all preceded him in passing.

He was married twice to Sheila Anders and Arteria (Terry) Martin.  Sheila had a son before their marriage ,”Jeffrey”  that we all called Snoopy.  Terry had one son who was named after his grandfather, Glenn Alfred Anders.  Guy also had another child in California with
Lula Mae Rankin, a daughter named Bree Shay Maelia Anders. Bree had a daughter,
Maelia Marie Taylor.

Guy attended school in Chicago and graduated from Dunbar Vocational High School.

Guy was gregarious, funny and he lived his life unapologetically on his own terms.  He loved playing chess and basketball with his friends, Lovise Jiles and Arjester (JR) Reed at Long Grove on 20th and Michigan.

Guy loved Richard Pryor so much that he perfected and performed a pantomime routine at several clubs across Chicago’s southside.  His favorite pastime was stepping at the 50 Yard Line.

While living in California, Guy worked for Bullocks and MTA, the Metropolitan Transportation
Authority.  There he met many of his lifelong friends.

Guy tried out for many game shows.  He made it on to three, Wheel of Fortune,
$10,000 Pyramid, and Family Feud.

Everyone that knew Guy would agree that HE DID IT HIS WAY!

Rest in Peace
