So many fond memories of my childhood took place in the Farley home. On each holiday or visit, my uncle would slip some money into the palm of my hand secretly. I'm sure he did so for all the children but then, I always thought I was the only one. My aunt selected gifts for each of us as children. Each gift was perfectly wrapped and inside there would be an exceptional gift, a keepsake, selected with each individual child in mind. Many of Aunt Marlene's gifts, 50 years later, I still possess, as well as those she later purchased for my own children; just as perfect and unique.
Holiday dinners, all the children would sit together, never with the adults, and we would laugh and misbehave...My cousin and I would dance on the hearth of the fireplace pretending to be professional dancers. After dinner, all would gather in the living room and Uncle Cheese would play the piano and tell us stories of our family's history. And though Aunt Marlene had heard those stories so many times before, she was attentive as if it was her first time. Never complaining or bored...instead respectful and gracious.
With Uncle Cheese, we pretended to be angels and made sure to behave, but with Aunt Marlene we were mischievous and vexatious.
Rob's pony, Sher's goat... the Farley home was a place that inspired wonderful family traditions, memories and childhood experiences... Rest in peace Uncle Cheese and Aunt Marlene... You are loved and missed. Thank you for making so many days throughout the years of my childhood memorable.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel for the loss of your brother, "Sonny".
Cheese was our Flagtown Mayor & historian. I loved listening to him tell stories of what went on in this little town. He will be missed.
Do your best to stay healthy and think of all the good times you had with your brother.
Love, Carmela

Dear Marlene, Sherrie, Robbie, Jim and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Cheese. Our sincerest condolences to you and your families. My son Jason and I stopped in to see Cheese and Marlene in late September. Cheese could talk for hours without repeating the same story!

Cheese and my Dad, Charlie Korth are probably already fishing together. Dad passed away November 18th at age 91. Cheese and Dad would talk regularly for hours even though Dad was in Ohio near us.

God Bless the Farley Family,

Jeff & Liz Korth

I am deeply saddened to hear about Cheese's passing, I was lucky enough to meet him when he came for physical therapy years ago. He was a kind and funny man, always smiling. My deepest sympathies to his wife and family.
