Its been 10 years since you earned your wings. I miss you every day. I only wish I could just hear your voice or you calling me, Mrs. White. It gives me comfort when I think about the talks we had and when I would come home and we went shopping. Walmart was you favorite store. It put a smile on my face when I pass one or even go into one. I miss you and I am a peace because you are in heaven with God and Dad. Miss and love you so much.

"Wishing our Angel a Happy Birthday. My world is certainly not the same since you left us to retire to your heavenly home. I miss everything about you and going home is not the same. Loving you always and remembering how you made all of us laugh and showed us unconditional love even to your granddog Trouble when he urinated on your floor."

My mother was my hero and my friend, but most of all she was my mother and my mom. If I could only hug her, kiss her, tell that I love her once again. I miss her so much. Today, even though tears fall from my eyes and my heart aches, I celebrate what would have been her 87th Birthday. My hero, Gladys B. Staten, July 18, 1926. Happy Birthday Mom.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Ps. 116:15

The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the arms of God.

While we are mourning the loss of mom, others are rejoicing to meet her behind the veil.

One of the strongest woman I have ever met in life! One thanksgiving together with her made a lasting impression that I will never forget!! SMACKED me in the face and "Who smacked you! You tell me and I will get them. They won't smack my baby!" Classic moment. Never will forget.

This is Gladys Staten and her husband James T. Staten...

My First Impression

Shared by Tamera Wilcoxson on March 9, 2011

I had the priviledge of being one (1) of a bus load of people to meet Mrs. Staten.  One week-end, several years ago  the youth of Linconia Tabernacle Christian Center  attended a Youth Convention that was held  in Virgina, I was one of the chaperones.  It  was after the evening service,  while we were all seated on the bus that was to return us to our hotel,  that Stella  brought her mom on board the bus  to introduce her.    The pride  in Stella's voice and the warm smile on her mom's face as she made the introduction is still fresh in my mind.  I could feel the "Southern Hospitality" as she greeted us all!  This was my first and lasting impression of Gladys Staten, a very sweet and warm lady!

Sleeping on the Couch

Shared by Margarita White on March 9, 2011

After Stella had Khrista, the family and friends planned a baby shower for her.  We really wanted to surprise Stella by bringing Mom Staten to Pennsylvania for the baby shower.  Frank, Stella's husband, contacted Mom Staten and made all of the arrangements.  Mom Staten stayed at my home until it was time for the shower.

While Mom Staten was sitting on the couch, she must have fallen asleep and my daughter, LaTisha must have been watching her!  When Mom Staten closed her eyes, LaTisha grabbed her feet and slowly placed them on the couch so she could be comfortable!

Now, if you knew Mom Staten, those feet didn't stay up on the couch long!
