Glen was many things to many people. He was my cousin (our fathers were brothers) with great memories dating back to our earliest childhood years. However, he was much more than just a cousin, he was a beloved friend and brother. He was also a great son to his wonderful parents, a loving brother to his sweet sister Nancy, a close friend to many, many others, and of course, a devoted husband to his incredible wife Debbie.
He was, among other things, an artist, a singer, a poet, a comedian, a coin collector, a gun enthusiast, and a lover of history (especially Civil War tales).
He had a smile and a sense of humor that could light up any room. It was always a joyous occasion whenever our California cousins could visit us back in Alabama. My brother Alan, Glen, Nancy and myself always had an awesome time together as kids. The same later on when my wife and sons came along. There were trips to the beach, site seeing, chowing down together on some good grub (like BBQ, seafood, watermelon, and of course homemade ice cream) or just hanging out with the old folks and hearing their tales from way back in the days growing up together in Millport, Alabama.
The world feels different now that he has been called home, but Glen’s life will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all of us who knew and loved him. Rest well buddy, we will all meet again someday just a little further down the road.
