Although I met Guy briefly in 1985 at the Post Office the first real time that I met him was on September 6, 1992. I was visiting my brother, Mike, he called because he needed help with something but he really wanted me to meet a friend of his. Then he called Guy over to play tennis, but really to meet me. I did not know about this and after numerous attempts to get me to stay, I finally left.
As I was trying to get out of the parking lot there was this red car blocking me, trying to get the space I was in. I finally got angry and started to get out of my car to yell at him to move a little because I could not get out. At the same time he was getting out of his car to tell me that he could not back-up and I had plently of room to get my car out. At this point Mike came out and introduced us.
This is how I met Guy, my future husband. We made plans to go out that very night, and Mike came with us. We went to the Bicycle Club on Duke Street, and as Mike was singing on stage, Guy and I started to talk and get to know each other. I have to admit it was his beautiful blue eyes that first attracted me to him, I felt as if I could look into his soul when I looked at them. And I knew what a good person he was.
After the Bicycle Club we went to Ramparts Tavern, also in Alexandria, on Fern St.where, while dancing, we had our first kiss. I knew then and there that destiny brought us together.
