His Life

December 2007

September 13, 2015

Not many people knew this but Guy did a play in 2007, from December 6 through the 15.  His daughter Kellie got a minor lead playing Mary Cratchit, and asked her Dad to please try out; anyone who knew Guy knows that he would do anything for Kellie.  He got the part of Gentleman #1 - where he danced and even did a little singing.

I, of course, thought both he and Kellie were fantastic.  We have the play on a DVD.  It really surprise me how good Guy was in the play.

Army Life - May '72 - April '75

September 10, 2015

Guy decided to join the Army in 1972, he told me his reason was "because I have nothing better to do."  I am almost sure that was not the real reason, although with Guy you never know.

He was stationed in Germany and worked as a Postal Clerk.  I really do not know too much of his army life so I am hoping others will fill in the blanks.

November 7, 1992 - Our Wedding

September 7, 2015

This was one of the most wonderful days of my life, I was so nervous.  Lucia Angelini was my maid of honor and Lora Angelini and Andrew Angelini were the flower girl and ring bearer.  Aubrey Dove was the Best Man.  I remember Lora pushing Andrew away from her and then Andrew running down the steps at my mother's house.

We had all our friends and family there and I was so happy, I know Guy was also.  We never got to our honeymoon because unfortunately I became sick and was laid up for a few days.  But we did go on a honeymoon every year after that.

September 6, 1992

Although I met Guy briefly in 1985 at the Post Office the first real time that I met him was on September 6, 1992.  I was visiting my brother, Mike, he called because he needed help with something but he really wanted me to meet a friend of his.  Then he called Guy over to play tennis, but really to meet me.  I did not know about this and after numerous attempts to get me to stay, I finally left.

As I was trying to get out of the parking lot there was this red car blocking me, trying to get the space I was in.  I finally got angry and started to get out of my car to yell at him to move a little because I could not get out.  At the same time he was getting out of his car to tell me that he could not back-up and I had plently of room to get my car out.  At this point Mike came out and introduced us.

This is how I met Guy, my future husband. We made plans to go out that very night, and Mike came with us.  We went to the Bicycle Club on Duke Street, and as Mike was singing on stage, Guy and I started to talk and get to know each other.  I have to admit it was his beautiful blue eyes that first attracted me to him, I felt as if I could look into his soul when I looked at them.  And I knew what a good person he was.

After the Bicycle Club we went to Ramparts Tavern, also in Alexandria, on Fern St.where, while dancing, we had our first kiss.  I knew then and there that destiny brought us together.
