Hanxing came to the U.S in January 1997. He spent three years in the Material Research Institute (MRI) at the Penn State University in State College. As a research assistant, he worked in Professor Clive Randle's research lab. Hanxing received his master degree with an award winning thesis 'Dendritic Domain Studies in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 Single Crystals' in 2001. 


Hanxing started working on his second Master degree in E.E. at UMass Amherst in 1999. In 2000, he did his internship with Agilent in Santa Rosa, California. Hanxing received his second Master degree in 2001 and in the same year he began his career at Verizon as a new hire to the SSA program.  

Having been with Verizon for fourteen years, Hanxing did a couple SSA rotations in Waltham MA and Tampa Florida. He finally settled at Verizon Waltham office in 2002 and has worked in various teams within Verizon ever since. 

Hanxing was born on December 29th, 1972. He attended the primary school of HanKouLu (汉口路), finished his middle school at Jingling middle (金陵中学), and completed high school at the Affiliated Middle School of Nanjing Normal University (南京师大附中).


Hanxing started his college life at Nanjing University, where he majored in physics, in 1991. He continued his research in physics and electronics after he received his bachelor's degree. He began his graduate school in 1994 at Nanjing University where his advisor was Professor Li Qi.  Hanxing spent one year and half in Professor Li's lab before he came to the U.S.
