I am a part of Dick’s extended family, not legally or blood-related, however he was always a grandpa for me. He would spend his life giving joy to others, whether it would be strangers or family, he treated everyone with such equal respect. Dick always had a contagious laugh and smile that he could light up a room with. He will be remembered as a great solider, with such great pride in his service in Vietnam, and an even better friend and family member. I’m blessed to spend these short couple of years that I was able to know him get close with him, once my mother married his girlfriend’s son, Justin. For me, he’s never gone. Dick will always be a big part of my and many’s lives, and will hold special memories that most people are unable to recreate. I love you, rest easy, you deserve this eternal happiness wherever you are now, because it felt like you gave us such happiness, too
