Another year past good things happened if you focus but I’m glad that you didn’t have to bear the troubles this year brought. Definitely you’re in a better place. Sandi Safranek Idleman, a High School classmate, passed last year, She visited with you a couple times. Her Mother passed on the 28th of December when she was young. So we shared a lot on Facebook. Pam was able to spend a day with Sandi during one of Sandi’s cancer treatments. They both would talk about your southern charm. This social media device Facebook has been wonderful for keeping family in touch. Jill and Cecilie post regularly. Jill Hord West keeps posting on Emma and her barrel racing. You would love the action photos of her riding. Trisha and Diane still do so many things, they have kept Jeanette’s house for family gatherings. Trish made a wonderful photo scrapbook of first cousins. Also through Facebook my Pepperdine classmates Kathy Jacobson and Ken Thomason and I got back in touch after all these years. Kathy recalled her visits and all the family as well as Ralph! We shared our memories of each other’s relatives that have since past. See you are fondly remembered and continue to be missed. Love ya!

2020 has not been a very good year for the world, COVID 19 flu virus pandemic has everyone in lockdown. Politics and news media attacks are daily thing. People hating each other for having any different opinions. So glad you didn’t have to see and hear all this. Your values have given me strength throughout this year. Miss you.

I’ve thought of your volunteering at the polling places all those years, and how you kept things in order. Politics have gotten so extreme. The Democratic Party has become so liberal so different from the party you believed in. I often recall your values and beliefs but it’s not with the Democrats any more, sad. Still I trust in the values and beliefs you taught.

Well it's been two years today, Jeanette, your baby sister joined you this year. The family now thinks of all of you back together talking, laughing, and hugging one another once more. Trisha, Diane, and the cousins have discovered so many good things from our collective past. So many good things!!

Being neighbors, and going to the same church, created a close relationship with the Halliwill's. My Mom was close friends with Irene, and my brother, Roger, was close pals with John. I loved visiting Irene to see what she was sewing on, or what she was cooking. She was always busy doing something for her family. Being the only woman in the family created quite a challenge, but she was up for it. After our family moved away, I enjoyed stopping by to visit Irene. She was very special and will be missed by all. Well, she's in Heaven with my parents now, and I know she has a special place up there.

I was eight years old when the Halliwill family moved in two doors from us. I was always so impressed by Irene because of her gentle ways, soft voice and sweet spirit. She was the consummate southern lady. Rick, I'm so sorry for your loss, but it's heaven's gain. I will always remember your mom. - Lisa Clark King

Rick, I was sorry to hear about your mom. I'm Nancy Clark Rock and as you remember we "grew up" two doors down from you. Your mom was a favorite of mine. She was a class act! I enjoyed talking with her a few times in recent years after my folks passed away in 2010. I'm glad she died peacefully and is now with her Lord, husband and sons.

You taught me so much about life, Grandma! You showed me how to cook... no really cook! How to sew, although you did most the sewing! Most of all, just how to be a good person. You lived a long healthy life, and I am so happy that you are now able to be with Grandpa and Dad in heaven. Not too many have the opportunity to know their great grandchildren the way that you did and that they knew you, and for that they will be forever blessed. Your spirit will always be with us, and you will never be forgotten. Love you and miss you,

Cecilie
