Has it really been 2 years? I still miss his laugh and stories but the pain has been replaced with little smiles every time a "Papa J ism" sneaks out of my mouth. We will be together again soon enough and he will have explored every corner of heaven and know every back road and fishing hole.

Happy birthday, Daddy. We will have snickers ice cream pie in your honor and remember all of the wonderful memories with you, especially the boat trips. Miss you.

Uncle JD was always so much fun! I always loved having he and Aunt Roxie visit. We lived on Lake Buchanan and on one of their visits, I noticed Uncle JD wasn't anywhere around. When I looked outside, I saw JD directing traffic on the boat ramp... helping people launch their boats and visiting with everyone! It was great...such a friendly, kind soul!

Hi Papa J, as I have known him!  What a heart he has shown me by his witness in helping with several of my moves these last 5 years. Always shows up, never complained and was a lot of fun to hang with when we were loading and unloading furniture! Son Mark, one of my bestest friends, as many times engaged his dad with me, which was always a blessing! RIP Papa J!  I do believe you are now fishing with Jesus and the Disciples!! What a blessing!! Tim Owens

I will forever remember JD with an engaging smile on his face, a kind word or funny anecdote on his lips, and a helpful hand extended. He will be missed. I doubt many in heaven have had the number of fun family times the Erwin's have to remember. All love.
