In Loving memory

James Robert Strouse, born on April 14, 1946, in Alto, Michigan, passed away at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Marion and Hazel (Biggerstaff) Strouse and graduated from Caledonia High School. James survived his beloved first wife, Gisela Strouse (Reichenbechen), with whom he shared 40 years of marriage until her passing in 2009.

A proud member of the US Army, James served his country with honor for 20 years. He completed three combat tours in Vietnam with distinction and received the Bronze Star for ground operations against hostile forces.

James was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, and spouse. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Strouse, his daughter Tracy Simkins (Ken), his cherished grandchild Kyle Simkins, and his siblings Dick Strouse, Datruse Cornell, Phyllis Ketchum, Delores Bencker, and Janice Heyboer. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
