More time has passed, Jay, and you have been gone even longer ... but it doesn't change how positive I feel about you and the memories I have from our youth. I was just remembering recently that after you showed up at my house on a Cushman Eagle and gave me a ride I really wanted one, but my dad - who was not high on motorcycles or motor scooters - would not give me permission. Once I was an adult in my thirties I bought a Suzuki 550 motorcycle which I rode fairly regularly for about three years and then sold it. The first day I rode it (and you would laugh at the story that led up to the purchase that included my wrecking a friend's Honda 500 on the same day) as I was riding around my neighborhood I said out loud, "Jay Young, where are you now? I want to take YOU for a ride today!" You were a cool, witty and fun guy. Still miss ya, still love ya. Save me a seat ... well, I mean if I deserve it.
