Jeff Call

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Jeffrey Gregg Call.

Jeffrey passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his residence in Albany, NY. Born and raised in Suffern, NY on July 29, 1968, he was the son of Raymond H. Call and Joyce Ann Burwash. He is survived by parents Raymond and Joyce Call, Punta Gorda, FL; sister Claudia (Robert) Castro of Coral Springs, FL; Brother Eric (Lauren) Call of Guilderland, NY; nieces Lily and Amelia Call, Hannah and Paulina Castro; nephew Aren Castro; and numerous friends and family. 

Jeff will always be remembered as a friendly and happy guy, and as ”lovable, huggable Uncle Jeff”. He enjoyed snow skiing as well as fishing and boating at the family’s Adirondack camp.  He will be terribly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

Joyce Ann Call joined Jeff in heaven on May 4th, 2015, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.  She is now at peace with her youngest son, Jeff. We love and miss you both!

It has been a year since you suddenly left us. We still have difficulty with the reality of your being gone forever, and the pain has eased somewhat with time. But, memories of you are still just as fresh, and will never dim. We sorely miss you!

How could we forget Jeff's birthday.  Mary's mother would have been 98 years old today.  Am sure all of Jeff's family and friends miss him very much, but he's probably looking down on you and smiling in his usual happy way.

Although I never met you, I cannot imagine that you are much different than your sister, Claudia. I too lost a brother and find he is always present in my life. I pray Claudia and your family find strength in that presence as I know I do. May you be watching and protecting from above. God bless.

I will always remember the little guy next door who could keep up with the bigger kids running along Ann Place and playing in the "woods" behind our houses. Chuck and I were very sad to learn about Jeff's passing, but we are sure the good Lord has important plans for him in heaven.  Our hearts go out to Ray, Joyce, Claudia and Robert and their family and Eric and Lauren and their girls.  You will all be in our thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.  We will be seeing you all at his memorial service this summer.

Jeff, that sweet little boy with the adorable smile, I called you Mikey from the TV commercials. That’s how I will always remember you, sweet and kind. My fondest memories of childhood were spent with your family. I will never forget the lake house and the fun we had as kids. My heart goes out to the Call family; you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you Jeff.

Cheers, Cousin! I'm not sure what family memories the Chiappe family would have without the Call cousins. There'd certainly be a bunch of missing 35mm slides of five kids (wearing an unfortunate number of matching polyester outfits) having the times of their lives in upstate New York. I'll never forget your smile, infectious happiness and ability to make every moment a fun time, Jeff.

Childhood summers on "Heavenly Lake Hadlock" with the Calls. Great times with unforgetable memories. Swimming, water skiing, fishing and everything kids could get into. Jeff made summer a blast! You will be missed and forever in our memories.

We have many fond memories of course, but those that we think of most often are of the many lunches we had at Applebee's. You and I would order buffalo wings that were so hot that we could hardly eat them-yet we would order them every time. After we were done, we would go get your "strawberry" ice cream.

Jeff, Saranac Black-and-Tan on the porch will just not ever-ever taste the same. I can't even begin to describe the chasm that ripped my heart when I heard the terrible news. Some of my best childhood memories include Jeff. Spending the day on the lake skiing, tubing or playing "king of the float." I will always cherish those memories. You will be missed terribly Jeff.
