Her Life
October 2, 2013

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Jennifer Lynne (Oliver) McCarthy, 48, of Phoenix, Ariz., left her earthly body behind Sept. 11, 2013, due to complications from the breast cancer she overcame 10 years ago.

Born Oct. 10, 1964, Jen grew up as a Norwayne Bobcat, graduating in 1982.

After completing her sports management degree from Bowling Green State University, she began her journey to several states for professional opportunities in sales, training, management and real estate, as well as entrepreneurial endeavors she developed with her creative mind and heart.

Her adventures took her to Illinois (she LOVED Chicago!), Wisconsin, California, Maryland, North Carolina and her last, most peaceful setting in Phoenix, Ariz.

She was constantly driven to achieve her goals, connect with people and succeed in all areas of her life. She found a passion in practicing yoga and holistic living. Jen had a love for fine food, music, movies and reading.

She left us inspired to examine and re-invent ourselves both personally and professionally.

Surviving are her mother, Nancy Noletti Wise (Ken) of Burbank; her father, Jim (Roz) Oliver of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Angela (Ben) Vail of Birmingham, Ala., and Chris (Bob) Diehl of Wooster; brothers, Brad (Julie) Oliver of Westfield Center, and Chad Oliver of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandmother, Marjorie Noletti of Wooster; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, dozens of cousins as well as the family she added during her 48 year journey.

She loved family and friends, and made friends feel like family.

Part of her journey included her marriage to David McCarthy, while she was living in Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Umbert Noletti, grandparents, Delbert and Thelma Oliver, and an infant niece, Nathalie Vail.

In lieu of a traditional service, a celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, Oct. 10 at the Genesis Conference Center in Creston, from 4-8 p.m.

In addition, there will be a parallel celebration on the same date at Old Chicago in Mesa, Ariz., from 3:30-6 p.m. Please join her family and friends in remembering our amazing daughter, sister, aunt, friend, soul mate.

Memorial contributions to honor Jen should be made to any cancer research fund of the donor's choice.

Jen believed in the connected energy we all share. Her mantra, "Love Today!", will live on in all of us.
