The first time I met Mama Dosumu, little did I know that our relationship will become so precious and intimate. She was indeed an epitome of a Christian mother. Our relationship took a new dimension after we met again at Rotimi's wedding
She's one of the very few senior women in church that most young women and mother's are endeared to. She never takes offence, yet form and principled. Humility personified despite her years. Writing this brings tears down my cheeks cos I have not only lost a big mum....I have lost a very good and dependable friend
I'll miss most the special way you address and greet me, " my sweet daughter,Aya kuku". The love you extended my family, always asking after my hubby, though you were hardly acquaintance.
Sleep well, daughter of Zion, till we meet again, sweet mother and friend.

Mummy you will truly be missed. A time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. We are writing the tribute here today in the memory of a wonderful mother, Iyabo Gbemisola Dosumu, so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain that her passing brings, we love you mum and we will all miss you.

Mummy! Grandma Dosunmu as I and my children fondly call you! Your demise came as a rude shock because you were the most solid human I've ever known!
Your love for God and humanity was visible to all especially in the way you welcomed and cared for anyone who came in contact with you.
I am not your biological child but you treated me like one!
Thank you so much for the impact mama!
Continue to rest in peace and we miss you much!!!

Mummy,

Your passage is a rude shock to us all. But who are we to question God. You are a true and great mother that cared for all that crossed your path. The only mother I grew up to know and have. I thank God for the trainings you gave me. I remember the first time I made Eba for daddy (trust that it was a disaster). You insisted we all do house chores despite that fact that we always had help. They are indeed helping me now. How can i forget the early morning devotions (you dare not sleep while kneeling to pray). I have tried to be strong since your passage but writing this tribute makes me weak. Sleep well sweet mother. I miss your smile, hugs and how you always call me Titilayo omo mi. Sun re abiamo tooto. Heaven gained a sweet angel.

I met Mama Dosumu as we fondly call her at The Agape Community Baptist Church, Surulere, Lagos about twenty years ago.We both are members of the Deliverance and Counselling ministry.

Mama was dedicated ,every wednesday she attended the meeting ministering to those who were troubled and had spiritual challenges. She participated in the online ministry team meeting a day before passing.
Later we became members of the same NDC (Neighbouhood Discipleship Centre) which Papa and Mama hosted for the past seven years.I became her accountability partner and coordinator.

Mama loved the Lord ,l remember Esther Anene, Mama and l used to go for evangelism every tuesday and thursday for years. She would always encourage us if nobody gave their lives. She would say 'Paul planted o, Apollo watered we do not know how God will convert the person let us do our own'.

She was a submissive and understanding wife to Papa. Her marriage was and still is a model. She always put Papa first, his food was a priority.
A doting mother and grandmother, Mama loved everyone, she had a huge heart full of love, extremely accomodating.
Her culinary skills were exemplified. Her Jollof rice and moinmoin remain to be beaten.
As her accountability partner we prayed ,cried, laughed shared testimonies of God's goodness together.
Mama loved her children, she always prayed for each one of them and appreciated whatever they did for her.
It is impossible to write about Mama without shedding tears.
Elegant mama Dosumu ❤❤❤❤
Mama l love you and l am certain you are resting in the arms of Jesus whom you love and served. Rest on ma.

Mommy Dosunmu, You have fought the good fight and finished your race. I thank God for your life. You have always welcomed me to the Family from Feggicolla days with Kido . I knew I had a home at Surulere. You have been a solid pillar to all of us. May you rest in Absolute peace Ma. May God send his comforter to comfort the family this period.

God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest . God's garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. It's broke our hearts to lose you, but you are having an heavenly party fill of laughter up there . May God give us the strength to accept what we,as human, cannot change. Rest in heavenly peace!

Mama,
I was privileged to Divinely meet you briefly for the first time in the plane in August 2015 and evrr since you have been communicating with me, despite the wide age difference
Glory to God for a life well lived in humility, contentment and in God's fear
We missed you greatly, but are consoled and comforted that you are resting in the bossom of our Lord
You are free from all unpleasantness. No covid 19, no winter, no sorrow, no hunger nor weeping is permitted there, Halleluyah!
Continue the everlasting enjoyment you have been sentenced to and we trust the Almighty God that we will all also end well in Jesus Name
Good night!

A Christian never dies, so I say good night Mummy. You were an example of our good African mothers. You didn't just raise children, but a community, because your children's friends become your children, including me. We can never know how deep a well is till it dries up, especially for all the roles you filled unannounced. Please sleep well till we all will meet again, raised and changed, at the appearing of our Lord, whom you loved while on earth. Adieu Mummy.

Dear (Our) mummy,
I am sure at some point in every Dosumu child's life, we passed through or holiday(Ed) in your home.
I remember always being excited going to Falolu, then spending my school holidays in your home.
How myself and Sola's picture stayed up in the living room for years.
How you took us for midweek services, morning prayers with that loud bell.
We were all taken care off, you spoke to us with a firm way that made us listen.
When my daddy passed, you met me by the front gate at festac, held me tight and whispered to be strong.
Thank you mummy.
With love from Modupe.

Revelation 14:13 (New Living Translation)

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!”

Rest in peace Mummy Dosunmu.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints - Psalm 116:15. We give glory to God for a life spent in His honour. May Mama’s gentle soul rest peacefully on the bosom of our Lord. I
