Warm and sunny here despite missing you desperately. Life would be so much better with you here. Yet the days come and go and we learn to live without seeing and hearing you. Memories suffice and sustain the love we have for you. When presented with the trials of difficult day I remember your resilience as well as the love and encouragement you would bestow. Time goes on but does not lessen the wonder of knowing and being loved by you.

Mums are mums! always there whenever you need them. No longer in body but in spirit. Little reminders scattered here and there in my memory makes me happy for the time we shared and helps scurry sad thoughts of loss into the sunshine of you lasting gift.

A year, a month a day! measurements of time but not of love. Time may pass but my thankfulness for the time we spent together, the laughter, encouragement and the occasional admonishment will never diminish. Cherish you always.

Dear Joy,
Amidst this time of happiness with a wedding only weeks away, I often think of how you would have smiled, hearing of our plans for the future. Your warm and bright personality and your knack for always asking the right questions will be remembered and appreciated. We miss you.

Missed but definitely not forgotten. We sat by the water in one of your favourite spots and in your honour shared a meal and memories. True a tear or two were shed throughout the day. Yet we try to live as you asked, proud and looking forward. Loved by many but missed most by your family.

Instead of a phone call today for Joy's birthday, I have this message:

To Joy on your birthday, we have missed you so and we will miss you even more over the next few months, the time you would have been up here, hibernating from the Victorian winter! In God's care.

Joy was such a true friend with a strong Faith in her Lord. I will miss the talks we had about families and my concerns but I know she is safely resting in the arms of the Lord and not struggling any longer with her physical problems.
She is safely home so we can rejoice. Hallelujah

How fortunate both Keith and myself are that we have spent time and enjoyed chatting about family and friends, we will miss you Joy, but the angels will be rejoicing.

Joy's birthday was just one day before mine and now, on April 29 every year from this day, I will light a candle in honour of her life.
