I have recently enjoyed re-reading some of the many stories you penned for a class taken in Santa Barbara. Your older son, Joe, has reached his 96th birthday in good order - the body has problems but Joe's mind is terrific. I follow shortly for my 93rd birthday May 22nd - it was always interesting that my birthday was followed by yours on May 23rd and then yours was followed by your younger son's Norm's wife (Carlene) on May 24th.

Amazing how quickly the years pass but we speak of you so often - and recount your jokes and adventures. Rest well. I just laid flowers at your grave site Ocean View, Warrenton, OR and stopped for a brief chat with you. With love - Carol, daughter-in-law.
