Happy Heavenly Birthday Poopsie. It will be your first in Heaven. For you 30 sees you as the Angel we all knew you were. You are missed daily,and thought of often. We love you.
Ms Katherine A. "Poopsie" Luke of Columbus passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center. She was 29 years old and resided at 801 McCormick Place.
Homegoing Celebration will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Forrest Park Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Donovan Coley.
Visitation 2:00 til 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at 801 McCormick Place and the cortege will depart from that address Saturday at 1:30 P.M.

My dear, sweet,friend, I cannot believe that you are gone! It seemed like only yesterday we were children, and played together in the beauty shop. Over the years we lost touch,but I would always ask about you when I saw Ms.Georgia. It seems unreal,and somewhat unfair that you are gone. I know you are in a far better place,but you will be sorely missed here. Please know that you I'll never be forgotten, and that you will live on in the hearts of all those whom lives you came into. Your smile was magnetic,and your friendship true. I thank the Lord for allowing me the opportunity to have known you. To all your family, and friends I send my deepest condolences, and Prayers at this painful time.

When I was little my family owned a business in the same shopping center as Ms.Georgia's beauty shop. It was there I met Poopsie. We became fast friends,and would often play together. This memory came to me,and I felt lead to share it as a wonderful reminder ,and the innocence of childhood. I attended a social club with my family one which icwill not dignify by mentioning now. This club had a pool,and I was just old enough to enjoy swimming. One day I mentioned this place,and the swimming while hanging out with my friend Poopsie. The adults giggled slightly under their breath,and we did not know why. Later I learned it was because the club was still quite segregated even in the early 1990s. The adults knew this ,and knew all I wanted was my friend to be able to swim with me. Poopsie taught me friends can come in all skin tones a philosophy by which I still live in the present day. Every time I pass that club I remember the innocence of childhood,and my friend Poopsie. On a happy note omne I wish I could tell you personally the club is no longer segregated,and the pool has been closed a good while now. So in the end my friend Poopsie,and I won the battle for what is right. You will forever be in my heart Poopsie. Thank you for being my friend. I miss you so much. Love you baby girl.:)
