This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Kaylee Grace Whetzel. Kaylee Grace was 5 years old, born on March 20, 2004 and was taken from her loving family and friends on October 23, 2009 by a senseless, cold-blooded murder. So many hearts were broken that tragic night. Not a day goes by that Kaylee Grace is not thought of or a tear shed. Just as we have wept, so has Jesus. John 11: 35 "Jesus wept". Just as Jesus wept over his friend Lazarus, he too has wept for Kaylee Grace. Kaylee Grace, we love you and your memory will be cherished in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you. Daddy, MawMaw, PapPap and family.

Memories of Kaylee
I have so many fond memories of Kaylee. I cherish everyone of them. I remember when she would come to Chirldren's Church and would ask me to sing with her. "Annie, can we sing the baby Jesus song?" She loved to sing Away In A Manger and Jesus Loves Me. I remember how she loved my cats and would chase them all over the yard. Squiggy was the only one that would let Kaylee catch her. I remember once when I was to babysit Kaylee. I laied down on the couch and she sat on my stomach. I fell asleep. When Mom and Allaina got home Kaylee was still sitting on me. She was so proud of herself. "Grammie, Annie didn't babysit me, I babysat Annie." I remember when Kaylee came to VBS in 2009. She was so proud that Peyton had come with her. "Annie this is my Peyton." I remember once she asked me if I would share my Grandpa with her. I told her yes and I was sure that he would love that. He did love that. I still remember the last day that I saw her, October 19, 2009. She gave me a big hug. "I Love You Annie." Those words will stay with me forever. I am sure that Kaylee is with my Grandaddy having a big time. Everytime that I see a butterfly I think of her. I know that she is watching over me and all her loved ones.
Golden Hair, Golden Heart
I didn't know Kaylee all that well. However, I did have the pleasure of being one of the teachers at EHEMS on playground duty while Kaylee was in kindergarten. My best memory of Kaylee is when she was on the playground. Her hair was so beautiful and when she ran it would blow in the breeze. The sunshine would make her hair so golden and beautiful--almost like it glowed! She would play with her cousins, Peyton, Jaydyn, and Rayne on the playground. It was so sweet to see all four of them running around and being together. She was so kind to them all. One day, I recall, Rayne was sitting on the hill by herself and Kaylee came running over to me and asked where Rayne was. I showed her. She went up on the hill and put her arms around Rayne. She had such a golden heart to go with her hair! She was so sweet and kind to everyone she came into contact with! I will definitely hold this memory in my heart of her forever. Being a teacher, each and every child holds a special place in my heart and Kaylee sure touched my heart in the short time I was in contact with her! God did get an angel when He got her!
