Like Fran, I'm just stunned to learn, years after the fact, that Keith is no longer with us. Keith was one of the cornerstones of the Grad Wing in A dorm (for an arts college, we had the most boring dorm names...). A little older than most of us, both serious and full of fun, he was always around, always reading and studying yet always up for hall pranks and amusements. After I graduated and moved up to Marin, he was one of the friends I called every now and then, until I no longer had an up-to-date number for him and he certainly wouldn't have had one for me as I didn't always have a phone. I think this is one of the sad things about our generation: we went our separate ways before email and the internet were commonly used, and so in our twenties, too peripatetic to think about letters and Christmas cards, it was very easy to lose track of people we liked and cared about and hoped to see again someday. Keith and I weren't as close as Keith and Fran were, but he still meant a lot to me and I would have loved to run into him again and hang out. Well--we're at that point in life when sad surprises like this greet our Google searches for old friends. Wishing Keith's family and all his other friends peace.

I was stunned and saddened to learn only yesterday that Keith was gone—and for four years already. Keith had a big impact on my life during our last years at UCSC and for a few years after. He taught me about port—good port— and how the best accompaniments were Stilton and walnuts. I had just seen the movie “Yesterday” and of course thought of him and his love of the Beatles. I always thought we would meet again. My condolences to his family at the loss of such a remarkable man.

Happy Birthday Keith. Gryffen and I spent the weekend backpacking in Yosemite. He took a couple of hundred photos with his iPhone and he started talking about how you would probably love taking photos here. He remembers you teaching him all about cameras and photography. What was he, 10 years old then? The falls were spectacular and full of rainbows. We miss you.

Life is short; I try to emulate Keith’s curiosity and eagerness to enjoy as much of it as possible. Happy Birthday.

I miss you, Keith, more than a year ago, I think. I miss your wit. But I remember the 50,000 times you made me laugh out loud.

Thank you for reading to us, Keith. Those happy memories will always stay with me.

Okay. I guess this wasn't really an elaborate ruse on your part. I miss you and even though you drove me bonkers half the time, you always managed to entertain in your own peculiar way. Gryffen is doing well and you'll be proud to know he could probably whip your butt in any RPG that you throw at him. Love Jeffrey

Keith, may you have eternal peace. And may those you left behind share in that peace.

I will always treasure the times I shared with Keith in our youth- our adventures in Iceland and Great Britain with our grandparents, exploring every inch of the family property in Vista together during my visits in between overseas postings, and getting wild and crazy at Uncle Talbot's house with Andrea and Bronwyn... Oh, to be able to return to those simpler times.

I remember taking many trips into downtown San Francisco with our family. We would go to Tin Tin stores, climb in tall ships and submarines. We ate lots a Japanese food. Keith was great at finding fun off the wall places and enjoying them. He knew how to find joy and live in the moment. Even during our last visit, when he was very sick, he wanted to go to a model train shop with Bronwyn, Talbot and me. We did and we had a great time. I am grateful for the time I did get to spend with him and will miss him deeply.

The Flood Gates have opened

September 22, 2015

The flood gates opened the moment I entered this site and heard Keith`s favorite Beatles song playing. What a perfect tribute to such a special man.
I am positive he would be so proud of all of you for doing this.
I am sending the gentlest of hugs to you, Bronwyn and Andrea, and to all of his family.  Thank you Karen for finding me.

One of the things I loved so much about Keith was his Love and devotion to his Family.  The stories he shared with me were endless, of growing up with all of you.  I especially Love the Green milk story. The Auntie alligator story was a favorite too, OH, and the day Grandpa arrived with the roof of his car demolished.

I once had the opprotunity to tell him that I felt honored to know him and call him friend. I truly do feel that way.
OH , how sad I am this day!  I will miss you Forever Dear One!   and I am so so sooooo  sorry

Green Milk

February 6, 2015

We did not have a lot of money growing up. Mom was a social worker, and Dad was an elementary school teacher. Much of the time, we used powered milk instead of the fresh milk we now take for granted.

When we did get fresh milk, my brother was eager to get his share. He used to try dyeing the milk different colors with food coloring so that my sister and I would be less likely to drink it.

I particularly remember the color green.

Pregnant with Keith (Little Keith)

February 4, 2015

This is Andrea, David (Bronwyn's first husband and Little Keith's father) and Big Keith. They are making fun of how big Bronwyn's belly is, so this was Christmas 1988.

Later, when the Keith's played DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) together, they would shorten the nicknames to lk and bk (for Little Keith and Big Keith).
