Her Life

Laura Lianne Hill August 6, 1981 – March 21, 2021

Laura Lianne Hill, born August 6, 1981, suffered a cardiac arrest while preparing to leave for work on the morning of March 19.  She never regained consciousness and was declared deceased at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland on March 21, 2021, at the age of 39.  She is survived by her parents, Karen and Wendell Hill, Jr., and her brother, Wendell (Woody) Hill III.

Laura was born in Takoma Park, MD, and lived her entire life in Montgomery County.  In 2003, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Salisbury State University and began a career in marketing and public relations.  She applied her specialties of writing and web search optimization to help grow the businesses of a wide variety of clients and employers that ranged from online birthday party supply providers and financial institutions to a piano superstore and a language translation enterprise.

More than her professional successes, Laura will be remembered for her selfless love and caring.  Her cheerful, positive spirit and one-on-one encouragement brightened the days of all who knew her, people and pets alike.  She was an active member of the Sandy Spring Lions Club, dedicated to charitable assistance to the needy and underprivileged, serving on its Board of Directors nine of those years.  There seemed no limit to her willingness to help others and her desire to bring happiness to everyone in her life.  This extended beyond her passing, as she had chosen to be an organ donor to give new hope and life to others and their families.

A celebration of Laura’s life was scheduled to be held via Zoom at 3:00 PM on April 18, 2021.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an animal shelter near you, or to the noble work of the Lions Club.
