Nancy Miyasaki and I enjoyed Leslie's hospitality in Merrimac, MA at the beginning of our round-the-world backpacking trip in September, 1989. I only got to see Leslie on a handful of occasions, but appreciated her intelligence, wit and creativity--traits that she definitely passed on to her daughter, my dear friend, Sybil. --Marcie Chan
