There are people in this world who carry The Light. Linda was one. Remember lighting a dinner candle and then lighting the other candles with the first? The first light was never diminished by lighting the others. That was Linda. She gave light to others while her own burned brightly...and always will. I will miss my old friend.

The world lost a true angel when Heaven called their most recent one home this past Monday.

Linda was that amazing kind of person who never put her own needs first, always had a kind word to say, and left you better off for having met her regardless of the length of your encounter. Her generosity to chronicle her journey reminded us of what’s truly important and provided a blueprint for traveling our own with style and grace.

I’ll forever remember her kind, caring nature, incredible strength of character, and how she always found a way to be there for my family no matter what might’ve been going on in her own life at the time. And I’ll always miss the times our families spent together in La Jolla, and on trips to Borrego to swim in the pool, set sidewinder traps in the desert, walk to the store for sodas in the searing heat, and play family games of Monopoly late into the night.

Goodbye for now my dear, sweet, cousin. Say “hi” to everyone until we meet again, and may you rest in the kind of pain-free peace you’ve so clearly earned and richly deserve.

I was lucky to be one of Linda’s childhood friends. Her joie de vivre, her twinkling smile and her warmth are all etched in my mind. We reconnected few years back and I learned of her work in education - she clearly met her calling.

Like Andy, I have fond memories of swimming in that amazing pool in Borrego and now she swims in the grand eternal waters. Many hugs to her cherished family.

Linda was my friend growing up. We had a St. Christopher kind of relationship in junior high. (If you remember what that is) Our families would meet in Borrego along with the Boughton family.
The Carmichael's had the best pool and slide. So many memories. Peace and love to her family and loved ones. I'm so very sad to hear this news. Heaven gained a blessed soul

I’ve followed Linda’s Journey on Caring Bridge, praying that the outcome would be different, but God seems to have had a different plan for this amazing Lady. My heart is broken, but I am inspired by the courage and the positive attitude that Linda possessed right to the end. I’m not at all surprised; I worked with Linda at UMF and she possessed all of these qualities. My sincere condolences and prayers to Buzz, Sarah, Kelsey, Grandchildren, and all Family members as you navigate the days ahead. My Hope is that your beautiful Memories will guide you and comfort you through this tremendous loss. Love & Hugs

Dear Buzz, Kelsey, Sarah, and grandkids,

I only met Linda online about a year ago
(On a message board for Myeloproliferative Disorders), but her warmth and kindness came through in all of her posts here, and in little notes she sent, even when feeling so poorly. So I felt that I knew her , even in that short time. She was so kind and brave and thoughtful.

She is in heaven now with the angels and with our Lord, her radiance and love continuing forever, free of pain. I look forward to meeting her there someday and I am so sorry for your loss. It's
incalculable.

A heavy heart writes now, having just learned of Linda's passing. Robin Zinchuk and I hiked up to Wheeler Mines with her on Feb 11, 2021 and Linda mentioned her doctor emailing her at 9:30pm the night before! That's the first I knew of what she was dealing with. What a champ she was -- enjoying all she could of family, friends, Boston sights, healthcare workers -- even hotel staff -- as she went through this process. She treasured each day! Our sons XC skied with her Sarah and we have known Buzz and Linda from the get-go of moving to Bethel. She will be so missed. Love from her and to her goes on forever. Much love to all as you adjust to her passing.

Dearest Linda,
You will not be forgotten. Each time I walk up one of our favorite hills, bike on one of our special trails or roads, you will be in my mind. Your love for life, steadfastness, and your beautiful smile will always be with me.
You once sent me a card suggesting we would be "ghost friends," well, you beat me to it, but I will join you one day to celebrate what we had in life.
I love you now and always,
Marie
