Marcelyn and singing
As a fellow singer, I was thrilled when Marcelyn said she had joined the Elgin Choral Union, and how pleased she was to be a part of it.
We were so happy to be able to sing together for the wedding of BFF Jessica Chun when she married Glenn Williams a number of years ago -- singing the Hawaiian Wedding Song in honor of Jes' birthplace. It was great fun - and while we didn't have many rehearsals -- they started over the phone from a great distance and went furiously up to the last minute -- we pulled it off and sounded pretty darn good!
I'll be donating to the Elgin Choral Union, and you can donate online at www.elginchoralunion.org or mail donations to:

I know you'll keep singing, Marcelyn, wherever you are!!!

Angela, Anne, Dianna and all of Marcelyn's family,
We (the Elgin Choral Union) have been contacted regarding the very unexpected passing of Marcelyn. We share your shock and sadness. At the same time, we wish to celebrate her life with you.
Toward that end, a few memories:
Marcelyn and I compared our experiences with the Winnebago, Omaha and other Sioux tribes, the Lakota language and customs - some wonderful shared memories, a few people we knew in common, some somber respect and some truly funny episodes.
She once hosted an "afterglow" party at her home where she was shocked that I'd never had a Mojito. She didn't happen to have any on hand, but was thoughtful enough a week later to bring me a few for my fridge.
She had an infectiously unique laugh that we'll all remember.
Like you, we'll miss her. Our condolences.

Hi Everyone. Welcome to this memorial site. I hope it can be a place to share memories and stories of our beloved, Marcelyn. It will also be a place to post information regarding upcoming memorial services. At this time I know there is at least one service finalized, however, I know there are also plans for a Southern California service in the fall and a private family service. Please stay tuned for further information as it is available. Thank you all, again, for your love and support.
