Marie Burkhalter, age 86, of Alexander City passed away on December 16, 2017.

Funeral service for Ms. Marie Burkhalter, age 86, of Alexander City will be 11:30 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate.

A private burial will follow in the City Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

My thoughts and prayers for your family. I will remember Ms. Marie with her legs crossed and elbow on knee and chin in her hand just watching and listening to what was going on around her with a small smile on her face. She will be missed.

Marie and I had so many good, laughing times together. And also some sad, tearful times were shared. A true friend, indeed. She took me under her wing and into her heart, when I went to my new job in 1972, and never let me go. May you rest in peace, my dear friend, and one day we will be sisters in heaven.
