Dear Mrs. Horst and family;
One of my fond memories of Mr. Horst happened in Medford when we visited your home over a weekend. That Saturday night a man scheduled to preach at the Rescue Mission on Sunday morning called Mark to say he would not be able to make it and asked if Mark would fill in for him. “Yes”, he answered. After the phone call, Mark asked if I would like to go with him. “Sure”, I said. So, the next morning, the two of us went, and for the first time, I got to hear Mr. Horst preach! I have never forgotten how he began his message! He said in his loud and confident voice, "Jesus Is Coming Again! Jesus Is Coming Again!" He certainly kept the men's attention as he preached the Gospel and encouraged the men to make sure they were ready for the Lord’s return.
Well, we are truly saddened that, for a time, you will be separated. But Glory Be to God, it will only be for a time, for the day is coming when you will be reunited with him! Oh what a day of rejoicing that will be!
I know this song is your testimony and thought I would send along the words below. As I type it, I am also singing it with you!
In times like these, I have a Savior,
In times like these, I have an anchor.
I'm very sure, I'm very sure,
My anchor holds, and grips the Solid Rock.
This rock is Jesus, Yes he's the One.
This Rock is Jesus, the Only One.
I'm very sure, I'm very sure,
My anchor holds, and grips the Solid Rock!
May the Lord continue to encourage you and be your strength!
