Matthew was a dear friend to my husband and one of the few people who he could just be himself around. They hit it off the first time they met and went on to have many adventures (including bonding over their love of raw oysters!). I remember Matthew for his kind smile and nature, he always seemed to be smiling! He is such a gentle soul, very smart, honest, and curious about the world—with a great sense of humor too! He brought us a great parenting book and classical music cd’s to my daughter’s baptism as a gift, so very thoughtful and we will cherish that memento forever. We were beyond happy for him for meeting his dear Yoojin, his eyes would light up and sparkle any time he mentioned her. Matthew, may you rest in eternal peace, our prayers are with you always. Thank you for showing us what true friendship looks like.

Matthew, you were one of the best friends I’ve ever had. I’ll never forget you, the Notre Dame/Georgia Tech game, the many dinners, you attending my children’s baptisms. You were always there for me in the most important moments of my young family. I’ll be thinking about you this year when I’m hunting. I know you were excited for this upcoming season.
