I knew Melody when she worked in public school 241 in Brooklyn in the 60s. Melody and my mom worked in the general office together.
I was a classmate of her daughter Gail. Gail used to share lunch that her mother would make rice and shrimp the best I've ever had. Melody always had a great big smile and a very warm heart. She was a very sweet lady and she brought a lot of love every place she went.
After 50 years I found this Memorial to Melody and it prompted me to look up Gail and say hello it was wonderful reminiscing about her mom and our classmates and the school that we all loved.
Melody wherever you are now I hope you realize that you're still doing wonderful things to make people smile. Gail and her kids are a living testament to the fact that you knew how to bring up your kids and you did it right!
We miss you very much!
PS- I hope you don't mind me calling you Melody. She was always Mrs. Fletcher, Gail mom!
