Kathy, this is beautiful!! My favorite thing would be when you'd come into work and tell us a story in your "Michael" voice. It could have been about sports, school, or something at home, but you switched over to your impersonation and your eyes lit up. I can't imagine what you've been through, but you are in our prayers!

Kathy,
Thanks for sharing and reminding us what's important. Wanted to let you know that I had hope the times that Richard and Blake were visiting Michael. And that I still have hope for both of you, though it is a little different. God Bless you both!

Kathy:This is really amazing. I really enjoyed talking to him when we were in RTP, it was fun talking to him about baseball, basketball and the Super Bowl. You and Michael will always be in our thoughts prayers. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Kathy, I cannot imagine your pain and emptiness. I remember Michael when he and Jeff played on sports teams together. Michael was quite an athlete, but more importantly he was a boy with great character. It was an honor to know him. You're in my prayers.

My fondest memories of Michael where when you came home from work. His eyes lit up with pure love for you. Michael was a wonderful, amazing person and I know that I am a better person because of my connection to him and you.

Kathy, I didn't know Michael, but I got to know him through the stories you shared with me of your incredible adventures with him at the Super Bowl and the many other sporting events the two of you went to. It was always obvious that you and Michael had a very very special bond. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kathy,
Ever since his funeral, I have kept Michael's prayer card beside my desk. I think of him often and hope he and my son are now playing ball together. I know Derek would have liked that. Please know that I think of you often and pray for you, Michael, and all your family. I also thank you for trusting me enough to allow me to walk down this road with you. I have been blessed as a result of knowing you.

Kathy...I didn't know Michael but I've been blessed to know you and your wonderful family for a lot of years. He was obviously an outstanding young man whose life was a gift from God that touched so many during the brief time we were allowed to have him here. We can only hope to someday understand why God needed him back Home so soon. I believe, as I know you do, that you will hold him in your arms again someday. In the meantime, thank you for showing us what true grace and beauty under pressure is supposed to look like. You've ministered to all of us in ways you probably don't even know. May God bless you, Michael, and your entire household!

Kathy this is beautiful! We were all so blessed to have had Michael in our lives.

My favorite stories of Michael were with our events at IBM. As always, we put on such wonderful events packed with family and friends. We needed hands to help do just about anything and everything. Michael was amazing! He came early, worked his tail off and then told me how much fun he was having while we cleaned up everything. He was so happy to be at IBM and help us do everything! I am sure he got that spirit and motivation from his amazing mother. I have pictures in my mind of him dressed up as a baseball player for the Halloween event. I'll try to find them so everyone can see the glow that has always surrounded Michael.

I also know that Aria (my golden retriever) was so glad to come with me to visit Michael although Duke may not have loved having another dog come to visit.

You are a wonderful and loving mother. Thank you for creating this memorial website. As I said, we are so blessed that Michael was in our lives, and we continue to be blessed with you.

Love you ! Merrilee, Paul, Chris & Matt Tomlinson

Michael looks like such a treasure. He was born the same year as my grandson, who has now entered college. I cannot imagine life without that boy.
I lost my adult son as a result of a horrible house fire in June of 2014 and the pain is unbearable. I cannot imagine yours.
I wish I could offer you some magic words of comfort, but there are none.
Hang on as I am sure your son would have wanted.
We are part of a club that we never wanted to join.
