Remembering Michael Olawale Faparusi

Michael Faparusi was born on 23rd October 1975, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. To Mother, "Mrs Dorcas Faparusi" and Father "Mr Samuel Faparusi".
He has a beautiful 10 Year Old Daughter named Aanya Modupe, 3 siblings (Mary, Joel and Ezekiel), 8 Nieces and Nephews (Tobi, Seun, Sade, Ayo, Ire, Lola, Segun and Seyi), and one Grand Niece (Cassidy).
Michael was a strong hearted, caring, protective, loving family man. Being the eldest boy in the household, he played the role of guiding, advising and disciplining his siblings. Always making sure they were focussed on education and independently ambitiously driven.
Michael went to Nursery and Infant school in Ojota, Nigeria. He left Nigeria in 1984 around the age of 8 years old, where he came UK to live with his Mother Mrs Dorcas Faparusi in Highbury. Michael attended Gillespie Primary School in Finsbury Park and moved onto Holloway Boys Secondary School, where he continuously highly achieved academically.
Michael attended City and Islington College on Camden Road and swiftly moved onto Southbank University, where he Qualified as a Surveyor.
During that time Michael, his younger brother Ezekiel rented a two bedroom flat together in Stamford Hill. He found a job working as a surveyor at Haringey Council in Wood Green. He went back to Westminster University to study Architecture for around 4 years, which he qualified in successfully.
Michael was a Tottenham Hotspur fan but had known love growing up for playing Basketball for the Borough of Islington - whilst passionately supporting the 'Chicago Bulls' Basketball Team. Michael had a love for Dogs. Like a dog whisperer Michael's skills in training Japanese Akita's, English and Staffordshire Bull Terriers, gave him a special connection with his pets. Michael, also known as DJ Blackanova back in the day. Played sweet sounds of R&B with a sound crew called 'Bulletproof'.

He established his own company, MOF-Designs, last year, after stints at Nelson, Salix and Chiller Box over the past 7 years. Michael had developed his skills in project management, commercial kitchen design and installation, estimating, building design and consultancy after being part of the first cohort in the Kitchen, Equipment Design and Production Techniques CPD course organised by CEDA, CESA (now FEA) and the FCSI in 2014.
He is described as “one of the hardest workers in the industry”, “a true gent” and as being sadly missed as a colleague and friend.
EVERYBODY looked up to Michael aka Big Mike. Not just for his physical strength, pride and honesty; or his mental and emotional strength. But everybody looked up to Michael because he never failed to look after those he dearly loved. Which is why although he has gone, he will never be forgotten and his uncountable, unforgettable memories, will forever live on through us all.
