IN FOND MEMORY OF “MAMA MARGARET”
I commiserate with the Oyefeko and Akintobi Families on the passing on to glory of Mama Margaret Oyefeko who we loved so much, but God loves her best.
I was privileged to have known Mama Margaret in dual capacity over the years: firstly, as a foremost executive secretary at UAC of Nigeria where she worked directly with my husband (Duro Oyinlola of blessed memory) for more than a decade; and secondly as a relation of our erstwhile and dear landlord (Pa Adegboyega, also of blessed memory) - a caring and concerned lover of younger people who was always interested in our progress as a young couple then. The relationship between our families was finally cemented by God Almighty Himself, when our own ‘Deolu Oyinlola got married to Mama’s dear daughter, Yemisi.
Mama Margaret was a diligent, caring and honest worker. She managed her office so well that it was a delight for all to associate with her even after she retired. She was a humble, frank and loving big sister, reliable and confidential. She exhibited so many Godly qualities that made one trust and love her all the more. She was positively predictable, a quality that has become rare in this present age.
I thank God she knew how much we appreciated her for who she was while on this earth. To mention Mama Margaret’s qualities now is simply to let others appreciate and learn from her noble life on earth. Also, I thank God for Pa Solomon Temitayo Oyefeko, her husband of blessed memory, who encouraged her to showcase these qualities, for he was just as noble a character himself.
One is assured she is resting fully with God who she walked with and worked for all her life.
I pray that all of us still living will ensure our lives reflect our relationship with God, our Lord and Saviour. My prayer is that God will continue to take care of her household and keep her legacy ever shining.
E ku ara fe ara ku.
God bless you.
