Nicanor Padilla Nabong left us for eternal life with God on February 4, 2021 with his wife by his side. He was born in Pasay City, Manilla in Philippines on February 20, 1952 to Floro Nabong and Gertrudes Padilla Nabong/deGuzman.
In 1970 he made his way to San Francisco, California to join his brothers and sisters. He found his sweetheart Avelina Calmerin (Evelyn) and they married on January 13, 1972. To this union, three children were born: Leslie Anne Nabong (Peachy), Jaime Lyn Nabong and Lloyd Nicholas Nabong. Nick and Evelyn enjoyed most of their family life in the Bay Area. In the summer of 2017 they moved back to Philippines so they can enjoy their retirement together, until his passing 15 days prior to his 69th birthday.
Nick was very curious and enjoyed the adventures of life. Evelyn often called him MacGyver for his extraordinary talent to problem solve, he had a competitive spirit and was a music aficionado. Surrounded by family who loved music and karaoke, inspired by the singings of Kuya Reg and Kuya Robert, he became an entertainer. Nick also played instruments and performed with his brothers, extended family and dear friends. Most of all, he adored singing with his wife Evelyn- they were a beautiful duet. He loved to perform during gatherings no matter big or small and was also in a few bands, notably he was known for being a "one man band". Nick loved to be creative on his keyboard, played the guitar and was a singer.
Nicanor is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings. He was a father to his two daughters and son: Peachy, Jaime and Lloyd. He cherished his grandchildren: Jalen, Jaren, Nathan, Lauryn and Jacob. He was a brother to his siblings: Regalado (preceded by death), Roberto (preceded by death), Cesar (preceded by death), Rodolfo (preceded by death), Ruth, Bernardo, Virginia, Domingo and Benjamin.
