From Rory Stewart his son
He was always supportive of what I do,so here’s him pictured(on Facebook) as the villain in my first ever short a western of course, and his last appearance in a film of mine “The Port”as himself . The port clip I think captures who he was fairly well; a realist who could see the value of things that had no price tag.As well as a guy who liked a party, every now and then at least! he also painted a fantastic poster for my short film” in the grass”
Love you Dad.

What a legend. Our hearts are with the Stewarts in this very difficult time. Wish we could have spent more time with Norrie but the time we did spend with him was full of laughter and love.

So sorry to hear the sad news,my thoughts are with you all.
It's been many years since I've seen Norrie but I remember his humour and intelligence, and admired his talent for painting, the portrait he did of Richard I always remember. I also remember playing in the bar one night, I think he was surprised by the volume, but pleased with the turn out!
As has already been said,he was definitely a force of nature,a very strong presence, and someone I am glad to have known.

My sincerest sympathies to Gill and the entire family.
My memories of Norrie go back many decades. The most memorable nights out, many of them.
Nobody ever "met" Norrie; rather, he HAPPENED to you... A force of nature and the most loyal friend you could wish for. Funny, charming, dynamic, and just totally nuts. Legend.
Rest well Norrie. I miss you. Let's raise a glass, boys.

One of the best men I have ever met, an example to us all in how to be a partner, father, brother, friend.....we shared many laughs, plenty moans and drank enough bevvy to float whats left of the British Navy.
My life was made much better by Norrie's part in it, and I will miss him terribly.
His legacy will be the banter and laughter that ensue whenever his pals talk of him; and of course the fantastic family he leaves too soon.....
Slaintè tae the boy in the bunnet
