It is with a deep sense of sobriety and grief that I write this tribute. Prof Sanya was an amazing teacher, father and servant of God.

I recall vividly our various encounters both in the classroom and hospital. You taught us like a father will do to his children; so loving, compassionate and firm all at the same time. Your very famous Yoruba proverbs, strong moral values and impeccable sense of humor continue to resonate with me

I pray for comfort for your loved ones left behind. Continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord till we meet to part no more.

We love and will miss you sorely daddy :( :( :(

A news so shocking , it's almost unbelievable!
You were an amazing neurologist..
A knowledgeable scientist...
An academic literary giant
You always carried around a bag of seasoned yoruba proverbs...
A nice medical teacher.
I still saw you few months ago, responding to my greeting in the usual jovial manner.." Ogunmodede Obinrin", how are you?
Hmmmm..
May God rest your dear soul and comfort your beautiful family.
You will be so missed sir.

My personal encounter with you was brief but will remain ever indelible, I remember it fondly. It was our first meeting with you in class during M1, I would not jot down anything in my characteristic fashion, you were worried, genuinely worried that you remarked 'the tiniest pen is better than the biggest brain' it wasn't my first time of hearing the quote, but it would be the one that forever stuck, I am always with pen now, Prof. Will always be. Live on!

The news of your demise came as a rude shock as well as a reawakening. Continue to rest in the bosom of the master sir. I know you shall be back for a thousand years!

You will be remembered for your good works. Rest on Prof. E.O. Sanya at the feet of Jesus our Lord till we all meet at the Marriage Supper with other saints to part no more.

Rest in Peace great teacher! I will always remember your classes laden with proverbs in the mother tongue. How you always urged us to better understand the language. You taught us medicine with ease and for that I am eternally grateful. May God cause Light perpetual to shine upon you always.
Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest
Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast
We love thee well but Jesus loves thee best
Good night Good night Good night!

The news of Prof's demise came to me like a rude shock. He was a great teacher and mentor
He came when we needed a teacher in Neurology and impacted both academic and moral values into us.
I can never forget his classes laden with jokes and humour in order to help us understand the difficult subject of Neurology.
He was very brilliant, kind, accommodating, God fearing and friendly to all.
May the Lord comfort his immediate family and all of us at large.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.

"Adiyẹ to ṣú ti ọ tọ, oni oliguria" as your popular saying while you add more myelin to our neural sheath in school. We will always remember you, not just as a teacher, but also a father who was always interested in our health and welfare. You would always remind us to come to you whenever we need anything. My last encounter with you was during my final MBBS viva which was more like a teaching scene than an examination situation. May God in His infinite mercies place you among the good angels in heaven. Continue to rest in peace sir.

What a painful loss this is, my eyes weeps, still in deja vu, you were a straightforward and a frank teacher who loves to say things the way they are, you taught tetanus so well that I always remember your words, especially the saying "adiye to su ti o to" and I smile when I teach others this same topic cos I knew I was taught by one of the greatest mind. What a fine neurologist, a father and a servant of God. I know your death is joy to heaven even though it's a shock to us. We love you but God loves you more. As you depart this sinful world, we hope to meet to path no more when the shofar blows. Rest on dear prof and I pray the Lord keep and preserve your wife, the fruits and the family you have left behind. Amen.

Sir, you are a mentor, a teacher, a true Christian role model. You “are”, not “were” for you are alive in Christ!
A vacuum has been left behind, but our Father is wise in all. We will meet again when He returns in glory!

Professor Emmanuel Sanya!

Your death shocked everyone. It was syncopal on our collective consciousness.
Truth is: You were a comet; a maverick soul that blazed the trails of time, enduring the rigmaroles, rewriting history, fighting the good fight of faith and coming out bright and great.

Such a stallion! Such a maverick personality! Ever brazen!! Ever virile! Ever roaring!! Ever fortuitous!! Ever penetrant!!!
A brilliant, manipular and rather exceptional mind...
You were a man who saw life and fought life in the way he new and saw best. You served and stood for God as a man. You built and raised a fine family and contributed to societal good in many ways.
You were dedicated adherently to your profession as a clinician and as a teacher.

Bar your deficits or whatnot, The world is a lesser place without Professor Sanya!!!
You were a titanic force to reckon with in the field of Neurology and Medicine at large.

May Heaven embrace your spirit and may God in his grace bridge the rift left by the exit of this lion.
Bless you sir.

Sincerely,
Pat Ashinze,
A student of Sanya.
For now and ever.

Dear brother and friend .
My Bishop , as I loved to call you .
You were such a wonderful brother full of live .
Even when your outer body pined away , your voice never betrayed your person .
You were full of life and with you all things are possible.
You saw hope and possiblity where others didn't see a light
You served the Lord.
How are the migHty falling !
You were exceptionally brilliant .
Not less than excellence was good for you .
We prayed and believed the Father for a miracle , but the father knew you are done with your assignment.
Go brother for the crown that had been minted for you .
Rest on till the resurrection morning
We shall meet at the river shore
We shall not mourn
We shall celebrate your memory
We shall rejoice that you made It home .
Beloved , your sweetheart, the girls and your boy are coveted by His lovE .
The literary world just lost a collossus
The study of epilepsy just lost an avid researcher

Sanya, as we all called you in Medical School, your passing was a rude shock to most of us your classmates. I’ve spent all day thinking about you and somehow wishing this was not true. I remember where you sat in the physiology lab in the biological sciences area, I remember your voice and your laughter.
Although we have not spoken in years, I read our last texts when you became a professor in 2017.
You were a gentleman. You will be sorely missed. Heaven has indeed gained an angel. We pray for your wife and children. God will console and comfort them. Good memories of you will bring them peace.
Rest on dear brother.

Thinking of you again today, Uncle Tunde. A great legend has gone. A loving, caring, and stern Uncle has passed on. You are a lot of things to several people; A Husband, a Father, a Doctor, a Mentor and a Pastor but above all you are indeed a child of God. Your impact in my life is immeasurable and I will forever be grateful. We will shed tears that you have gone, but we will smile because you’ve lived a fulfilled life. We will close our eyes to mourn, but afterwards we will keep it opened to see your legacies live on. We may have sleepless nights to come, but we will awake and continue to cherish your memories. Sleep on and continue to rest in your Saviour’s bosom.

The news of your demise came shocking, I was destabilized. Even though I haven’t seen you in about 2years, fresh memories of my encounter with you in med school and house job kept flooding my mind.

I can’t forget loving epilepsy as a topic more through you, especially TLE....you were a great teacher! Your ever lively persona and fatherly advice will be missed by all.

This is really a trying time, may your loved ones be fortified to bear this
