I met baba 32 years ago when I was in courtship with my husband. our house was next to theirs. I loved him and I like him for many things;
Baba was a very hard working man. he had value for time and a good sense of time management unlike many African, if you were travelling with him, and the time schedule was 5am, he was not going to wait for you for another one minute. Whenever he had opportunity to talk, he made his point, and found his way. he was a fearless and bold man. No matter who you are, he would tell you his mind and the next minute , he is gone. He was a man of dispatch action.
I also see as a man of wisdom evident by the results we see around him. he labored in the morning time of his life and when the change in season came upon the nation, he could not be destroyed. he was not a concern to any child until his death.
.But baba took care of me as a daughter. there were some things he told me that only a father would tell you such. I kept them as words of wisdom, and they are still working for me. baba treated me with love and respect anytime I saw him.
He accepted me and integrated me as part of the family without any biasness at all times and circumstances could not change that. I can never forget when Samson was getting married, I was busy running round to fix things, baba said the engagement could not start until I arrived and when it was time to sign the marriage certificate, he included my name in the grooms family lists. That experienced remained with me till date. it encouraged to do more for people at any opportunity I have.
i came to the family under the fatherly care of daddy Oyeyiola in Alibaba street,Muchia, of blessed and precious memory. I did not have the opportunity to tell him thank you for his fatherly care.
I told Samson that I was just looking for the time baba will fly to the western world to see us and we can honor him for his love. I also thought that one day when my children will do good, I will have on seat, a father in love, not in law, who loved me, accepted me, and treated me with dignity and respect , to seat in his place as the Lord honors me but baba, it looks you will not be there.
I sincerely pray and hope that we will meet at jesus'feet. baba, I truly miss you. Thank you baba , thank you. Bye Bye.
