Tribute to my Evergreen darling husband, Pastor Sam Newlove Lumor
I bless the day I met my husband, more than forty years ago.
I have never had cause to regret meeting and loving him.
He was my husband, my friend, my lover, my confidant, the bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh, the one God gave to me to make my life complete.
He complemented me in every way, loved me with all my faults and loved all our five children and grandchildren to a fault.
Since the day he went to be with the Lord till now, I find it difficult to mourn because of the fond memories of our union and the assurance that he will always be around me and his children to guide and protect us. He loved and served God with all that he had.
I am confident that God took him away for heavenly assignments.
Adieu, my better half, till resurrection morning, when we will meet to part no more.
Your Sunshine,
A/P Omowunmi Olubunmi Lumor.

Who will affectionately call me Ayomzo?
Growing up with you as my dad is a blessing I thank God for each day.
Everything I have learnt and I am today is all because you stood to be counted.
My encourager, my gentle but powerful brain resetter.
Your devotion to Mummy, ‘The Lumorlings’, The whole family and the several thousands that call you daddy would always stay with me.
Your words-always inspiring.
Your laughter-always hearty.
Your jokes- always full of mirth.
Your charm and charisma - never lacking
Your songs will live in our hearts.
Your voice will always ring in my mind.
Your dancing will never fail to give us joy.
You are always happy and cheerful, you never fail to see the positives no matter the situation.
You have always been and modelled being the perfect dad, husband, friend, brother and of course the most amazing grandpa.
I will tell your stories for all to hear whenever I get the chance and that would be all the time.
You gave me the perfect template for navigating life, marriage, career, friendships, academics and all else and most importantly knowing and serving God.
You did all these not just by talking but showing.
Don’t worry daddy, we would take care of mummy and promise to give her the best life you wished for her.
We also promise to keep making you proud and living up to your ever high standards.
Glory to God, you are now leading God’s army from Heaven.

Daddy, I call you a King because that's what you really are.

I couldn't have asked for a better Father-in-law.
Uncle Sam, My son's best friend (Your Brother) Mide & Mipe miss you so much.
So many endless questions about your exit
such as; Who will now be telling us Bible stories
So Grandpa now has wings to fly to heaven
But the doctors were meant to take care of Grandpa, oh im so angry with the doctors, etc
Daddy, we love you but GOD loves you the most.
Enjoy your stay with the host of heaven and may your perfect soul rest in perfect peace.
I love and miss you..

AN AMAZING FATHER
BABA LU as I fondly call Him was the closest I had to a Father. Loving, Kind and Dependable. He gave me a level of normalcy in my childhood and never made me feel left out. Ever listening, Always making jokes, Never a dull moment with him.
He was my definition of a true Christian, a good leader who led by example, Selfless to the end.
He was a foodie like me and I enjoyed cooking for him so much "Omowo what is the Formula"
You will be missed dearly and I will hold all our fond memories close to my heart.
Till we meet to part no more...

Durotimi's Tribute

February 20, 2021
Father, Uncle Sam, Father, Baba 70.
Thank you for everything.
It's so easy to say how amazing you are and how much you've influenced me
Thank you for letting us (the Lumorlings) experience Christ...
Thank you for not shoving ideals down our throats.
Thank you for the liberties that we enjoyed with you.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE, YOUR SOFT SPOKEN WORDS AND YOUR CHOICE OF WORDS... ever elevating.
Thank you for being an amazing friend.
Thank you for being the best at everything and not having us look for anything outside coz you served the best for us at home already.
I can keep thanking you for everything and it still wouldn't capture the immensity of your impact.
Thank you for modelling Christ.
Thank you for modelling love.
Thank you for being the perfect father.
You were an encourager, a supporter, the perfect cheerleader.

YOU WERE AN ENCOURAGER, A SUPPORTER AND THE PERFECT CHEERLEADER.

Your patience is worth emulating.
Your presence lit up every room.
When God said let there be light, you were definitely the answer; you were and will always be such a bright light... Your legacy lives on Uncle Sam.

You modelled Christ
You modelled love
You modelled fatherhood.
You taught me to put my faith in something bigger than me.
You showed me that there are many ways to the same destination... You made me think possibilities.
You allowed me explore every dream.
You supported me in every endeavour.
You influenced the most important things in me - belief, love, family, humour, freedom.

You are easily the greatest man I know.
I'm soooo proud to be the son of the Engineer of engineers, the General, the pastor of pastors, the preacher, the friend, the father, the greatest grandpa, the friend to all and father of 1 billion children, the kindest man I know, the most loving husband ever, the listening ear, the sound and the voice of reasoning, the teacher (just in case you don't know, uncle Sam was once a teacher and it's no shock that he was in charge of trainings for a major part of his professional career), the man, the main man Sampson Newlove Lumor.

I love you forever and I choose to immortalise you.
You're more than just a man, you're God's greatest creation and your legacy is forever.

Who will I argue with now?
Who will troll me until I complete my tasks? Y.Lu this isn't a challenge so chill please.
Who will call me to tell me he's home or at his destination anytime he goes out?
I miss you daddy.
I don't think I could ever get too old to call you daddy and just be a child around you.
I love you.

Your son Rotimi.

Banky's Tribute

The man himself, Papa Lu, main man, My dad, our dad.

Everyone can call you dad and I can smile knowing fully well your legacy lives on in us and through us.

You lived as one man, completely sold out for Christ.

Loved your family and treated every single person you met with acceptance, love, and possibly even an open heaven devotional message.

Thank you for all the memories, the songs, you always greeted life with Joy in your heart and you brought everyone together effortlessly.

A true exemplary leader, you lived fully well, fully loved and I pray to live up to the good name you left behind.

Your Bobomi Bankete. Banky.

Tbh I just want to hear your voice one more time call me bobo.

I didn't know how much you held on for us, and I wish I got to let you enjoy a lil of the goodies you gave me.

I'm thankful that you are at rest, in heaven, looking after us.

You gave everyone nicknames and all the kids loved you for it.

You daily sent open heavens to more people than I could every imagine.

Others knew you as Pastor, friend, brother. I knew you as a friend, a gentle man, my daddy.

Freshest surfer, professional fisherman and crab catcher.

The memories you created on our trips are irreplaceable.

Your stories were always hilarious.

Loved you discussing/dissing our love for football and your memory was epic as you recalled players and coaches like Arteta and Cesc

You always made everyone I spoke to feel welcome, friends and acquaintances and even sang for the on the phone.

I loved hearing you and Mummy watching Tinsel or Steven Furtick.

You taught me how to take care of a home, told me you loved me and wanted me to be raised and not just brought up.

You showed us how to take care of fruits and pets.

You forgave my stupid mistakes and when I squandered your money.

Thank God for giving us years to enjoy with you.

You travelled the world, were a polyglot (spoke many languages) and don't know who can match that.

You had your guy for everything which became a tradition for everyone in the family.
From your personal plumber, electrician, chef, architect, gen guy, furniture man, and even our family Pastor.

Who is going to tell me eat a quarter pounder on your behalf?

I miss you and love you Daddy.

Till we meet I will be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus knowing fully well that as you died in him, you will live in Him.

Bamtefa Family Tribute

February 23, 2021
Baba Yomi, Baba Lu, My Brother-in-Love, a Complete Gentleman.
You became a permanent feature in the Bamtefa family of Sagamu, the first day my immediate immediate younger sister, Omowunmi brought you home as a suitor. You were witty, warm, jovial, always had a listening ear, ready to help and a willing burden-bearer for family, friends and even outsiders.
You were the best father any child can pray to have, your children's best friend.
Your unconditional love for your wife, my sister Omowunmi was unparalleled. Even before you became a born-again  Christian, you radiated love, as God prescribed.
It is with a heavy heart that I'm writing this, but I will not grieve, because you never wanted anyone around you to be unhappy. God loved you more than we do.
Fair thee well, beloved child of God. Your legacies remain evergreen.
Your children are perfect photocopies of the life you lived, may God preserve them to complete your pending earthly tasks and to keep the flag you left flying.
Adieu, great child of God.
Iyabo Bamtefa-Green for and on behalf of the Bamtefa Family, Sagamu.
