PICTURES !!!!

January 6, 2011

Well you might know I would run into a wall with this site.  Was going to upload a picture and unless I pay for an upgrade it seems as though I am limited on how many I can upload.  So for now I will be switching photos ever so often.

LITTLE BLACK BOOK!!!

January 6, 2011

This story is about a little black book that momma had sent my pops for it's a small one.  Please excuse some of the words but I wanted to say exactly what she wrote.

I sent your pops after me a note bookHe bought me this one and got one for himself because they were 2 for something.

He ask me what I was going to do with it, and I told him I was going to write you stories about myself.  He said to start back as early as I can remember.  He said he couldn't write you nothing, because all he ever got was his ass chewed out and switched.  He said the last time his mom was going to switch him, he took the switch out of her hand, broke it up, then threw it into the stove, and told her there wasn't going to be any more of that shit.

MORE STORIES TO COME!!!

January 6, 2011

Momma has written some things over the years that I would like to share with everyone.  I think that she would be happy if I passed them along.  So, there are more stories to come.

Aunt's say the darndest things...

January 4, 2011

A few years back, Aunt Pearl and Uncle John were up for the Davis City school reunion. John was actually who knows where @ the time, but we (Hubby, 3 kids, and myself) met up with Aunt Pearl at the state line gas station. She was sipping coffee , seen up pull in and came out to meet us. Travis asked "Where's John at?"

To that Pearl replied, "Who the hell knows! Ya know, anymore he's about as exciting as a case of the CLAP."

Ahh, Aunt's say the darndest things...

January 3, 2011

I first met Kim when I was working at a factory in Excelsior Springs, Mo.  I was having a very hard time with a couple of co-workers, to the point I was ready to quit.  Kim told me that I should talk to her mom about it, and that Pearl would know exactly what to do.  I remember thinking what a really cool mom she must be, that her daughter would suggest I talk to her about such a sensitive problem I was going through.  As I found out in the years I knew Pearl...that was an understatement.  Pearl was indeed "cool" and so very much more.  Her family was everything to her, and she had a heart of gold to say the least.  I remember a birthday cake she made for me on my 30th birthday.  Beforehand I had mentioned I wish it was my 23rd birthday instead of my 30th, so on the cake she had written "Happy 23rd Birthday, Kathy"!  This world has lost a wonderful woman, but Heaven is all the richer having Pearl there.  God rest her soul.

As A Teenager AT Pearl's House

January 3, 2011

In the 70's Kim and I were best friends(and still are).  I would spend so many nights with Kim at Pearl and John's house. You know how girls in Jr. High and High School are!

Every time I was there Pearl mad you feel so at home.  She always had a smile and a laugh.

One snowy night Kim and I wanted to go sledding behind John's car, so he agreed to drive.  But we couldn't get Pearl to go with us.  She laughed and said you all go on and have a good time.  I believe she thought we were a little nuts!  If I remember correctly she was laughing when we got home.

Pearl was a sweet, kind and loving woman that I will never forget.
