Preston Westly Ojala, age 48, of Vernon, Connecticut passed away peacefully on January 25, 2020. Preston was a graduate of Rockville High School and the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. Preston served his country in the U.S. Army, and continued his military service in the Army Reserves, where he received his commission as a 2nd lieutenant. He was also a member of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, where he was able to travel all over the world. Preston was one of the most patriotic people you could ever meet, his love for his country was unparalleled. Preston loved fixing things and working on cars, not just any cars but old Chryslers. He was predeceased by his mother Priscilla Ojala. He is survived by his father Paul Ojala Sr. of Vernon, CT; his brother Paul Ojala Jr. and his wife Jennifer Ojala, and his niece and nephew Sophia and Nate Ojala, all of Coventry, CT. He also survived by his great aunt and godmother Barbara Mracek of Hamburg, NJ. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Sylvie and many great friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Faith Tabernacle Church in Manchester, CT. A wake will take place from 12:30-1:30 and a service to follow.
