Dear Daddy
In life we loved you dearly
In death, we do same

It broke our hearts to see you go
You did not go alone
For a part of us went with you
The day God called you home

You left us amazing memories
Your love still guides me
Though we cannot see you anymore,
We know you'll always be with us

A chain is broken
And things will not be the same
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Rest in Eternal peace Daddy.
Thank you for all you did for me.
You'll be forever loved, never forgotten.

It was a shocking and sad news when I heard you we’re gone Big daddy, your legacy will forever be in my heart. It was just last year you and big mummy came to Ireland for a visit, when we threw you and big mummy a surprise birthday, your reaction was out of this world. It is definitely sad that we’ve all lost such a great icon. You are a fatherly figure, mentor, hero, teacher of life to most of us, actually to all of us and I’m definitely sure, anybody reading this will say the same. Papa, you’ve left this world but you’re never forgotten. Rest in the perfect peace of God.

Prof A. Adewole, the first time I met you was on the day of my external defence of my Ph.D thesis and of course you are the external examiner. You kind words and advice are still very fresh. The last time we met again was your inaugural lecture and that of Prof Adesokan. At Prof. Adesokan inaugural lecture, you drew me closer and said my son where are you now. Your last word was if you have any difficulty in placement contact me. I never knew that will be the last time we will meet. You have joined the Church triumphant. It is painful to say goodnight Sir,you are one of the finest Clinical Biochemist and Chemical pathologist and a lover of God. Rest on Sir till ressurection morning. Dr.G. O. Adunmo (Unilorin)

Big Daddy, it's now that you are gone that I know how much I miss you. Gentleman to the core- ever pleasant and amiable.

But I'm not going to talk about you in past tense because you are still here with us everyday, alive in the legacy you leave behind. You help so many people, care for the less privileged and impact many minds. Even after your passing, many of us still recall your sound advice and words of wisdom and encouragement to keep moving forward.

I don't even know where to begin. You were an exceptional human being in so many ways. A father to many, a leader,  a giver of your time, resources and advice, and you actually cared. I can say these things because I grew up with you. I spent my formative years living with you in Yaba... you are responsible for raising me up.

First things first, you gave me a solid foundation in Christianity. Growing up as Baptists you made sure everyone in the house was at church at least twice a week, we did family devotion every night and had to memorize a bible verse a day. As a teenager, there was that part of me that felt these were chores (lol) but they helped me. They helped me in my pursuit for my own future relationship I would develop with God. It pushed me on a journey to finding God for myself, and for that I am forever thankful.

Let's talk about your love for music! Especially Baptist hymnals and the piano... you were so passionate about everything from your career to the things you loved! And whatever you  did, you put your everything in it. That taught me an important life lesson; that in all you do, give your all. Whether it was the church or the community or your career, you gave of yourself to everyone -highly devoted and committed to every platform God gave you to serve from.

I remember how passionate you were about medicine and health! I specifically remember a day where you sat my cousins and I down and talked to us about HIV. We went from how to protect ourselves from the pathology, to finding treatments for malaria in NIMR, to just discussing your academic research in general! Everyone knew you really loved doing what you do-- being a doctor and caring for people.

One thing I love about you is that you treated everyone the same. You treated us like your own kids and I could ask you about pretty much anything, knowing that you would take care of me.

You gave people hope, believed in us even when we didn't see much in ourselves and you wanted the best for everyone.

I'm going to miss u a lot. We still had many more memories to share... so much more... But I'm glad for the ones we did experience together and the life you lived. It's not about how long it's about how well. You lived a good life and touched many.
See you in heaven one day, where all the pain of loss will be gone forever.

I love you!

Fare Thee Well
Prof. Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole
(1949 - 2019)

Words seem to be feeble as it is difficult to find the right words to express how I feel in a moment like this. It was an initial moment of denial, then it gradually dawn on me that my dear Professor, the man I cherished so much has passed on.

Prof. you were a perfect example of a brother in-law. You played significant roles in the lives of your wife’s relatives of all ages.
The passionate interest you showed in justification for higher education and career development cut across boundaries.
You gave your best to God and humanity during your lifetime.

In March during one of our conversations in Ondo, you informed me you would soon clock 70. Unfortunately, you left us abruptly to be with your maker.

Even though you have gone, your memory will linger on forever in my heart and that of my family
May God grant you eternal rest and watch over the immediate family you left behind.

ADIEU my erudite Professor.
Till we meet on the resurrection morning.

TRIBUTE TO A GREAT MENTOR: PROF. T.A. ADEWOLE

'Baba' (as I used to call you), your death is a great loss and still a rude shock to me. It's difficult to accept that you are no more with us physically. But I can not question God Almighty who decided to call to glory one of HIS faithfuls before time. You were such a great leader. You always advised, guided and protected all the young ones that worked under you as if they were your biological children. This is the reason some of us called you 'Baba'. You saw a replica of yourself in me 10 years ago in UNIOSUN. You always encouraged me that "Bamidele, don't worry, don't mind the obstacles, very soon you will see reason why I asked you to tour this career path". Those were few from your words of encouragement. I am sad that you didn't wait to witness the testimony to the greatness you sowed in me. As a christian, I say "au revoir" since I hope to see you again in paradise.

Dear daddy Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole,
I was filled with sadness and grief at the news of your demise.
How I wished I could tell you I'm not ready to let you go.
But you've already departed, and my heart is feeling so low.
I miss that little twinkle that used to light up your eyes.
And I miss the sound of your voice, your laughter and your sighs.
The memory of how you accepted and embraced me (at my low moment) regardless of your status and position will forever linger on in my heart.
Your love towards me and all that come across you was so strong and real.
May God comfort Mummy, the children, and the entire family you left behind.

Ma a sun Olufe, ko si ma simi,

Big daddy, the only way I called you. It is still a shock to me that I won't be able to hug you again. It is with a lot grief and broken heart I write this tribute. I wish I could turn back the hands of time and save you from whatever caused this. I remember when I was much younger, and all you cared about and wanted for me is to get the best out of education. Well, that goal Big daddy is almost achieved, as I am in my finals in the university. My wish was for you to be there on my convocation to congratulate me, and give me the advice on what's next to do in life to be a great and fulfilled gem like you. I know you will forever be in my heart and the hearts of everyone in the family. I am very sure you are in a better place and it is the wish of the most high. May your gentle and kind soul rest in peace.

The news of your passing was received with shock. I had thought that I would be able to visit you in Abuja, but it turns out this was not meant to be. You and Keji were treasured friends through thick and thin. You were always very kind hearted and showed your love for God in the way you lived your life and interacted with everyone you came across. Yours is a loss that is difficult to bear, but take solace that your place with the Lord is assured. A true gentleman and a Christian to the core. My heart truly goes out to Keji and the family, but I will urge them to be comforted and proud of the legacy you left. You will be forever missed.

Daddy, your passing on has been a big shock to us. Though we don't understand it but we know it pleases The Lord. We can only take courage in how you humbly served Him. The life you lived, how you loved and served have given us many memories. I remember how you took on the heavy task of teaching a village kid on table etiquette. It was a duty you took on gracefully.

Words alone cannot express how much we will miss you. You've have been an inspiration to many of us in loving The Lord and pursuing academic excellence. When you're aware of a situation you journey with the person. I cannot forget your joy when I told you I passed my Viva.

Surely, we will meet again at His feet and what a joy it will be! Till then rest in peace in the bosom of your The Lord.

Prof. Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole
The bitter news about your sudden death, Gboyega, can not easily be taken in. You were such a godly, lovely and an amiable gentleman, so liked and loved by all that had the opportunity to come across your path.
You were meek and you fitted in where you were.
It hurts to think that you have left us for ever. How are the mighty fallen! You impacted many lives, but have left many devastated.
In your heartthrob's family, no one knew you as an inlaw; you were a son, brother, "egin", or aburo. The vacuum you have left in the family can never be filled.
It is hard to say Adieu Gboyega, but rest in the bosom of your Maker, God Who has chosen to call you at this time. He will take good care of your wife, children, family members and all you have left behind.
Adieu Gboyega, till we meet at Jesus' feet.

Daddy, with your death, I realised reality is quite different from emotions, most times both doesn't work together, I was always with you in body and spirit, you have been a good father, mentor and confidant to me, we share a lot of things together, u catalyse me to progress, u caution me when going astray, my emotion would have been for u to live as long as you wish. What a world, we can not query God as so many questions runs on my mind without a single answer. May God accepts your soul. Akanbi opo, opomulero moja alekan, omo oba nile soobi, sun ree o.

POEM FOR PROF. ADEWOLE

His Journey's Just Begun
By Ellen Brenneman

Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

PROF. TAIWO ADEGBOYE ADEWOLE, GONE BUT NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN. SLEEP ON.

TRIBUTE-Dn. Prof. Taiwo Adewole

Writing a tribute about Dn. Prof. Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole is with a great pain. He was used by God to touch our lives and ministry in many ways. Right from the time the church (New Heritage Baptist Church, Lagos) reached out to us to become her pastor until his demise, he was a great encourager, counselor, and die-heart partner and follower. He was a ministry partner any pastor would love to work with, a church leader that made the church healthy and peaceful, a church member who respected and submitted to pastoral leadership and a Deacon who served with absolute devotion and diligence. He was a lover of God, a lover of his family, lover of God’s church and God's servants, a lover of the brethren and all aquitances as well as a lover of the community of people. He was highly elevated in his profession yet humble, graciously elected into top church leadership yet submissive, greatly dedicated to God's work yet amenable, endowed with many graces yet unassuming, advancing in age yet young at heart. He became the first Diaconate chairman of New Heritage Baptist Church, Lagos and served with outstanding commitment for 8 years. We were greatly challenged by his commitment to service when he traveled every Sunday from Osogbo to Lagos just to perform his role as a serving deacon. To the amazement of several, he arrived the church from Osogbo for service before some nearby church members. No doubt, we will miss his love, humility, encouragement, sacrificial service and many other outstanding qualities he was endowed with by God. He was such a blessing to his family, church leadership and members, colleagues and community of people in Lagos and Ede. God's multiplied grace on the family and the churches he associated with in his lifetime. We love you dearly, Dn. Prof. Taiwo Adewole.

TRIBUTE TO AN END TIME MINISTER OF GOD _ PROFESSOR TAIWO ADEWOLE.

Your demise came to me a rude shock,as I still spoke to your darling wife, a few hours before, and there was no indication of such a thing !
You were an in-law I am privileged to have, ever full of smiles, jovial and generous. Little wonder you imparted a lot to your amiable wife, Morounkejiarami.

I had hoped,at real old age, we would really be closer, when the children are all beautifully settled.

I take consolation in the fact that you died on active service on your job, as a philanthropist, and more importantly,in the Church of the Almighty God.

You are sadly missed,no doubt, continue to rest in the bossom of Papa God.

The Lord would be with the family you left behind.

The news of Prof Adewole's death came as a very rude shock to me. I spoke with him less than a week before it happened and I was looking forward to seeing him in Abuja on Sept 12. Indeed, only God understands the journey of our lives .
Prof will be missed by many , including all of us in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, OAU where he served as external examiner and academic mentor for many years.
We take solace in the fact that he lived a Godly and impactful life, leaving significant marks on the sand of time.
Adieu our own dear Prof Taiwo Adewole till the resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more.

“How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished” (2 Sam. 1:27) Professor Taiwo A. Adewole, was indeed a great man with a good heart. He was a peaceful man that seeks peaceful coexistence and always professional and pleasant to work with. He corrects people with love not with bitterness and hatred. I remembered when I was posted to College of Health Sciences as the College Secretary, I was new in the University administration. He taught me a lot of administrative skills. Let me quote him “Wumi, I will write this, then you will reply me like this” Baba you were a good teacher, menthol, confidant and father to all. He remembered everyone’s name and love to call person with first name to show the level of familiarity. He was always ready to help people. He had put smiles on the faces of many families in one way or the other. His good deeds are uncountable.
His effort and contribution towards the development of College of Health Sciences Osun State University as the pioneer Provost of the College and a member of the first Governing Council of the Osun State University cannot be forgotten. He organised the first Christmas carol in collaboration with the students and staff of the University. I pray that God in His infinite mercies will uphold the family, UNIOSUN, LAUTECH and BOWEN community and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Adieu Baba, sleep on, till we meet at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ on the resurrection day, good night!!!

Adieu to a Loving Daddy!

The exit of Daddy still remains unbelievable. However, we will not be like them who have no hope, we have assurance that you're resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ and we'll surely meet at his feet. It's painful that you have to leave us at this time, yet God knows better than we do.

Daddy was a role model to many of us, a loving, caring, hardworking and God fearing father. You believe in success of everyone around you and will do everything possible to support. The words in your last text message to me when I informed you about the completion of my PhD study kept ringing in my mind. "My Dear Ayomiposi, I trust you and glad that you have completed your study". Daddy were always positive about others and never look down on people.

It's a difficult moment for the entire Fifo family, but we'll keep trusting our great Comforter to comfort us all and heal the wound especially to our mummy.

Adieu Daddy! You'll forever be missed!

Knowing Prof. Taiwo Adewole before he left this world was a great privilege which has turned to a wonderful blessing for me and my family. Prof was a man who would want to use his influence to assist others especially the young ones. The challenge (academic pursuit) you gave to me and my wife will continue to live in our memory forever. I cannot forget the role you played in my wife's life when she was just a corps member serving under your tutelage at UNIOsun. The announcement of your departure to great beyond came as a huge shock to us. May the Lord be with the family you left behind and grant us all the fortitude to bear the loss. And may God grant you eternal rest where we will all meet to part no more at Jesus feet.

Hum! Daddy, In deed, your demise was a great shock to me. That morning when I was informed, I wished it were a mere dream. Instantly, I flashed back to our last conversation, I mean less than 48 hours to your passing on. I remembered clearly your words, I remembered things you still wanted to contribute to the progress of our department. The conversation was long, I never knew that would be the last I would ever have with you. You really made tremendous contribution in our department and it will be difficult to ever forget you.
Daddy, how I wished you stay more alive, your passing away seemed too soon.... ADIEU GOOD DADDY.

Tribute to Prof Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole
That song says
"Abide with me, fast falls the even tide
The darkness deepens Lord with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless Lord
Abide with me"
Ah, Baba Adewole, you have now joined the saints triumphant
You have yielded to the call of your maker
You have changed mortality for immortality
The "earthly space suit" has decayed and your soul and spirit have returned to your maker
It is over, "Laala Alagbase ti tan"
Where is death's sting, where lies thy victory
In life, in death, o Lord abide with me
O d'arinako, o d'oju ala ka to tun ri Baba Adewole.
Though you are no more, your work and good legacies speak for you.
We met in LAUTECH, you recruited us to the College of Health Sciences of Uniosun. You worked with passion as a foundation provost with others to turn the thick bush that Uniosun was into a place that people started struggling to work in. The Medical students were taken as your biological children to the extent that you travelled to the USA and bought the maroon bow ties for all of them to complement their uniform. Their problem was your problem. You were so generous to the staff and students that a couple of times you also bought gifts from the USA for us, CHSstaff as well. I know that men do not like to carry heavy luggages when travelling but you didn't mind at all. After you had completed your tenure as provost in Osun State University, you went back to LAUTECH and later the MBBS program in Uniosun was suspended, you apologised to those of us you had recruited. We told you not to worry, that no harm had been done to us.
The MBBS program you started, has now bounced back, but alas you did not live to see us graduate the first set. Your love for the medical profession made you to go back for the MBBS program even after a PhD in Biochemistry and you pursued your medical career till you obtained your Fellowship in Chemical Pathology.
Life is so ephemeral, it is a mist, a vapour that vanishes away.
We take solace in I Thes 4: 14-18.
Jesus loves you best and has taken you away without even bidding your beloved family farewell. "The righteous is taken away from the evil to come" Isa 57:1b
We pray that the Lord shall comfort mummy and your children on all sides in Jesus name. Amen.
Adieu, erudite Prof of Chemical Pathology, till the resurrection morning when we shall meet at the feet of Jesus to part no more.

Baba! Baba Adewole!! Prof.!!!...
You were a guide. A mentor. A father. A friend.
Your humility was touching. You related with both young and old amicably.
Even when you had reasons to disagree with people younger than your own children, you do not disrespect them.
You correct with love. You guide.
You were strict and fortright, yes; but you were meek and loving, too.
You were always serving others.
You were an encourager.
Thank you for all you did during the years I interacted with you - you were a shinning example for us in our career path.
You may not know how profound your impact is on many young researchers in Nigeria and beyond.
You were a shining light.
I never expected that I would not meet you when I return from my research visit... But in all, may God remain true, and be praised forever.
Shine on in our memories.
And may your seeds be blessed forever.
Adieu!

Tribute to Professor Taiwo ADEWOLE.

Prof, We thank God for your life; life of impact that you spent. You spent your life working, labouring, toiling and impacting generations to come. We are sad that at a time you retired to watch those you had impacted demonstrating the skills, you left. We are sad that at the time you retired and ought to be enjoying the fruits of your labour, you left. We are sad that at the time we younger ones in the academics should be visiting your domain to tap from your deep and vast experiences as Director NIMER, NUC, Provost LAUTECH, Provost UNIOSUN, Professor of Chemical pathology and others too numerous to mention, you left. You inspired me specifically in MDCAN LTH and Pre-accreditation exercises in our University as a member of your team. You were a man of details. You were strong and never got tired. May God bless your family and everything about you. May God uphold and comfort your wife and children. We pray that Holy Spirit, the Comforter Himself do His job in all you left. May your soul rest in perfect peace and may the Angels lift you up in their hands as you answer and face your maker directly. Adieu Prof. Taiwo A. Adewole. We will surely miss your wisdom, your skill and your love. God bless LAUTECH.

*TRIBUTE TO AN ICON*
Prof. Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole was a great academic icon. We crossed paths in 2005 when he joined Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. He had just come from National Institute of Medical Research (NIMER), Lagos. Prof. Adewole was appointed a professor of Chemical Pathology and became the first lautech made professor to occupy the position of Provost of the College of health Sciences of Lautech. He was truly a great and determined man.

He had gone through his education in life first as a Biochemist, where he rose to earn a PhD degree before he started Medicine and Surgery because of his love for medicine. Age was not going to deter him in any way as he recalled how he mixed with very junior students and teachers who could have been his students. He humbled himself till he obtained the medical degree.

He later pursued his postgraduate training at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital and went through the different postgraduate trainings again till he became a Fellow of West African College of Physicians in Chemical Pathology. He became a consultant and worked both with NIMER and as an associate lecturer with the University of Lagos which gave him opportunity to publish adequately to be appointed Professor of Chemical Pathology at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso as well as Consultant Chemical Pathologist at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. As a provost of the College, he worked so hard within the two years to secure re-accreditation for the College in 2007 and moved the College from Idi Seke to Isale Osun, the current location of the college. He later moved to Osun State University College of Health Sciences where he midwived the birth of the college at the inception of the University. He also worked briefly as the Provost of the College of Health Sciences at Bowen University there after. Prof Adewole was at different times a member  teams of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), National University Commission (NUC), as well as West African College of Physicians (Pathology). Prof Adewole has touched many lives as a teacher and a senior medical doctor before he retired last month at the age of 70 years. He was an ordained deacon of Baptist church and chairman of Baptist Medical services of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. He was a community leader in his town at Ede and an helper to many. He was a devoted man and frank to a fault. Prof Taiwo Adegboyega will be remembered for his diligence, goal getting spirit and his ability to relate with all cadres of staff with respect and honour. He was my confidant, my senior friend and colleague and indeed, a father to many members of our college. Adieu, Prof Adewole. May your soul continue to rest in peace.
Prof. Peter B. Olaitan
Provost, College of Health Sciences, Lautech, Ogbomoso.

Prof Taiwo Adewole, I still can't believe I am writing a tribute because of your passing. Words cannot describe this difficult moment, but if this is the last time I get to say goodbye then I know I will do so with the knowledge that I consider myself blessed to have lived this life as your in-law.
You touched so many lives by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any favours in return. Your dedication to a cause was what set you apart. For every institution you work for, you laid the path for others to succeed.
The benefits of your hand work is a living testimony for the so many young men and women you took under your wings at a personal and professional level.
Prof, you were and will always be an inspiration to myself, the entire Fifo's family and anyone who worked with you. You have left a void in the family that will never be filled.
While we mourn today,we also take comfort in the fact that your mission on earth would have been fulfilled. We thank the Lord for your life and bade you farewell until we meet again.

The first virtue and highest honour is that of being qualified as a Deacon - an honour the Lord through His Church bestowed on him. Outside the Church he excelled and was honoured as a Professor. Within and without Dn Prof Adewole demonstrated by his admirable lifestyle that he was worthy of these honours. Simple, humble, friendly, accommodating, he demonstrated the loving kindness of Jesus Christ to those he interacted with. We grieve over your sudden departure but what counts most is that Heaven is pleased with you. With this we say, Prof rest on till we meet at Jesus feet to part no more.

His Life
September 22, 2019
Professor Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole was born on 26th  August, 1949 in Osogbo to the family of Pa Samuel Ladeji Adewole and Mama Lydia Oladuntan Adewole of Ekeniku compound, Ede, Osun State.  He was the fifth of seven children, namely Adeyoola (late), Abiola Adenike, Ajibola Moyosore (late), Ademola Okunlola (late), Taiwo Adegboyega (late),  Kehinde Aderonke (late), Idowu Funmilayo.

He attended Baptist High School, Iwo, Federal School of Science, Lagos, and the University of Ibaban where he bagged his B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry. After his National Youth Service, he proceeded to University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he became the first student to obtain a Ph.D degree in Biochemistry.  While rounding up the programme, he yielded to his innate desire to read Medicine by seeking and obtaining admission to the University of Calabar where he got the MBBS degree. Subsequently, he was appointed as a research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in Lagos, where he spent 18 years, and rose to the rank of Deputy Director (Research).  His post-graduate Diploma (Specialist training) came through a full Residency programme at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), thereafter becoming a Fellow of West Africa College of Physicians (1996), and specializing in Laboratory Medicine.

At NIMR, he headed the newly-created Division of Clinical Sciences and midwifed the setting up of the largest HIV treatment centre in the whole of southern Nigeria, and the third largest in the country, currently employing over 100 staff.  He was fully involved with PEPFAR ( US President’s Emergency Plan For AIDs Relief), and APIN (AIDs Prevention Initiative In Nigeria), both of which have led to the treatment to over 25,000 HIV/AIDs patients. At the same time, he was Associate Lecturer at Lagos State University and LUTH where he wsa involved with the training of post-graduate students at Masters and Ph.D levels.

In recognition of his hard work, teaching excellence, and numerous publications in leading academic journals, the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, appointed him a Professor of Chemical Pathology, closely followed by his becoming the Provost of the College of Health Sciences.  During his tenure, he secured accreditation for Nursing and Biometrical Science, and for MBBS degree. He was able to move the College to its permanent site and was instrumental in getting an increase in the number of medical students approved for admission by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, (MDCN). Noting the advancement he effected at LAUTECH, the then Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola requested for and obtained his secodment to the newly-established University of Osun State, (UNIOSUN) to start their Medical School.  Thus he became the pioneer Provost of the College of Health Sciences where he worked for five meritorious years and secured its NUC accreditation, before returning to LAUTECH.

Professor Adewole had barely settled down after his return to LAUTECH when Bowen University, (BU), came to request for his services. Feeling  reluctant to leave LAUTECH again, it took the intervention of the then President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Vice Chancellor of BU to formerly secure his release to them. There, He became the Provost of the College of Health Science and the Acting Chief Medical Director of BU Teaching Hospital.  He remained a member of both the BUTH Governing Board and their Heaith and Allied Services Ltd Board. He continued to be the Chairman of the Medical Board of the Nigerian Baptist Convention until his demise.

It is worthy of note that he was not only a teacher, but a father to his students and staff, lending a helping hand in times of trouble, and paying the school fees of some of the indigent students.

Having attained the statutory retirement age of 70 years, he was just settling down to establish a clinic in Ede when, through a chance encounter, his C.V. and credentials came to the notice of the officials of Nile University, Abuja, who were very impressed and promptly gave him an offer of appointment which he held until he passed on.

Professor Taiwo Adewole was a devout Christian;  he was was devoted to serving God and was so much involved in Church work that he and his wife were sent by New Estate Baptist Church, Lagos, to go and pioneer New Heritage Baptist Church, Lagos. He was ordained a Deacon on 7th April, 2001 at New Heritage Baptist and served as the Chairman of the Deaconate Board for years. Sometime later, he held the position of Church Leader at Baptist Church Oke Apaso, Ede while the Church was in search of a substantive Pastor.  Even in Abuja, he attended the First Baptist Church, Garki up to the last Sunday of his life.

He led the Medical Team of the Osun State Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land three times, and his team was adjudged the best State Medical Team by the National Medical Coordinator in the November, 2012 exercise.

Professor Taiwo Adewole was married to his sweetheart, Morounkeji, from the Fifo family of Ondo town, and the union is blessed with three sons, one of whom is late.  He was a caring and loving family man, and his devoted wife remained staunchly at his side up till the early hours of 4th September, 2019, when he passed away.

He will be sorely missed by his family, Church, friends, community, and hometown (Ede). He left a good legacy, and a fitting epitaph for him comes :from the Bible :

“.....Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord ... that they may rest from their labours, and their works follow them”    Revelations 14 : 13
