I will never forget the first time meeting him when I was 16 years old and praying the suspenders holding up his “bath skirt” didn’t give out! He loved his garden on Cunningham and took such pride and would make us walk the garden with him (usually in his suspendered bath skirt for the neighbours to enjoy). I remember him cutting off his toe with the lawn mower and calmly told us to stay and find it while he headed to the hospital! And didn’t Rick cut off his finger with garden clippers?!? So many of my memories include him. He had a big personality with the kindest heart...if you know Ben and Angie you know they share those traits❤️. Mrs. Galindo, you could tell meeting the two of you that your love was like no other. You balanced each other perfectly! Sending you my love, a big hug and my condolences. I can guarantee He will be playing practical jokes on you from the other side!

Remembering Raf with tears and smiles.

Raf could do just about anything.

He could sing like Pavarotti - impressing his future in-laws with powerful, operatic renditions of "Yo Te Quiero Mucho" and "La Barca de Oro". Then he would lighten the mood by demonstrating how he could put his foot behind his ear!

Raf could instantly win the hearts of the Aunts with a formal, old world kiss on the hand.

Raf could drive a round trip of 1,750 km, from La Tuque to Orillia and back, to visit his beloved Christina for a weekend - in a snowstorm!

He was a skilled chef too. He made an amazing Spanish Spaghetti cooked with beer - more than 50 years later I recall the aroma and flavour like it was yesterday.

Raf had a way of telling stories that had everyone in stitches. Sometimes he could barely finish the story through his own laughter.

His Horoscope in the fortune-telling birthday book sums him up perfectly:
"You have a sunny disposition and a charming personality....
You will always be happy."

We were so blessed to have Raf in our lives!

Dear Angie and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss and during this time it has even
been harder.
I meet your Dad a few times and he was such a character
like Liam says always playing jokes on people.
You all are in my thoughts at this time.
I am here for you Angie if you need to talk.
Love Always Lynn & Gary

Dear Galindo’s. My heart breaks for all of you. What a great man. I have all these great memories  With your dad.  My all time favourite is when he told Karen (aka Mary’s Food Mart) that my kids weren’t mine, and that I didn’t know, but to keep the secret. She did. (Angie told me what he did). I got him back good. After he moved off Cunningham Avenue, Karen asked me if I’d seen him... I said it was really sad, but that he had been deported. That it tuned out he was wanted for crimes in Spain.  I wish I could have been there when he showed up at her store a few weeks later. My thoughts are with you... Mrs.G, Benita, Tristan, Kaelan, and Angie. ❤️❤️
